check your speaker wire and speaker for short circuit.

Make sure speakers are hooked to proper connectors. Also check speaker switch "A"/ "B"/ "A+B" is positioned to correct speakers.
Also make sure mute switch is off

Hi, first it's not power, it's the voltage you need to know, is the transformer burt, if not you can mesure the voltage output by putting a voltmeter at the primery to see if 120vac is there and then the output to see how mutch at each two wire at orange is and then at the two red is. They should be about 24vac on orage and 60 volts at the red.
Not shure what the voltage just guessing, if totaly dead then you have a burt transformer, some of these unit have a internal fuse, you may see them on the top, they may be also thermal shutdown sensor's fuse type, look to see if there is one, if so look at there value, thermal has a degree in C for the value and pico fuse has amp's or ex 4a .

Yes if it has a suitable speaker connection available and is nominally 8 ohms impedance Speaker and AV.

Being from 1985 or there abouts, it probably needs some TLC at a Yamaha service centre. May need new capacitors and resolder dry joints for age related issues.

WD-40 ... Very dangerous as it not only flammable when wet but is bad for electrical contacts as it leaves a residue behind that does not conduct electricity very well. Check speaker connections first.

(francais) hello in my issue the probleme was a little resistor r027 it's in this red zone and very ugly. easy to find. a friend was unsolded the resistor and weld a little wire after wash with isopropanole alcool. the resistor test the tension when we plug usb thing. less the resistor the usb ports don't work. you can buy r027 for 2 euros for 100 pieces.... or 2 euros for 5 10 pieces (funny).

You must repair the amplifier first. Take it to an authorised Yamaha service centre.
