Pull the back cover and check the capacitors on the power supply. If there are any that are bulging or show signs of fluid leakage, replace them.

If that doesn't fix your no picture but sound issue then you have a bigger problem.The tube is having problem.

Call a technician to fix another tube for you

The standby 5vdc is working but the rest of the power supply sections (5vdc main, 12vdc (for sound), 24vdc (for backlight inverter board) are not on. The first place to look will be the power supply module, Check for those voltages. Look for blown parts,bad caps with leaking/bulging tops.

Check to see if the master power switch located near the power cord receptacle is on. Otherwise you will need a possible powersupply repair. These sets can be difficult to find parts for,but there are salvege sites on the web. A reputable shop may charge $150.00 to fix or if you are technically able........I can guide you as well

Hello,

to connect your TV to your DVD, you will be needing a RCA wire (Yellow, white and Red wire). The yellow stands for video (visual/display), while the read and white stands for audio (sound).

Look at the back of your DVD, look out for Video Out, connect the yellow wire there. Also look out for Audio Out L & R, connect the white and red wire there.

Then turn the back of your TV, you will find Video, and Audio IN, Connect the other part of the wires from the DVD to the DVD, that is, Video for video and audio for audio.

Once you have connected the wires, turn on your TV, and your DVD player, press source on your TV remote to AV, and you will see your DVD displaying on your TV.

That's to hook up your DVD to your TV. Follow instructions carefully and you won't have any problem.

Some HDMI. allows sound vis the HDMI, but sometimes you must also use AV. Red & White.

This would be 5 pins, red-white is for audio and rest of 3 pins red-green-blue for video signal, it calls component video.
Find out red-green-blue jacks at back of TV that would be label as Y, Yr, Yb
Plug each pin in same color to get color picture.

Look at the power supply first; look for burnt parts, bad capacitors, etc. Look to see if you have any DC voltage at the output connectors.

There are two places to look for the problems, the backlight inverter board and the power supply. Look at the power supply first since it is easier to get to, look for burnt parts, bad capacitors, etc.
