I would suggest switching everything off, unplugging and starting all over again, it may be that simple. Plan B :Un-install the driver and reinstall. Plan C :Check that the MP510 is the default printer via Control Panel/Hardware & Sound/Printers. Click printer icon and then right click or use task bar. The flashing lights indicate a fault on the printer itself so check for paper jams, ink cartridges in place etc.

Whilst the obvious answer is to plug it in, I think that there are some words missing from the question between "printer" and "it" - can you clarify?

Operate the scanner from the computer not the printer. Have you loaded the MP Navigator progam from the cd supplied with the printer? If not, do that first and then follow the steps below. Double click MP Navigator icon on desktop. Choose "custom scan with one click " Save to pc. (" attach to email "only works on windows mail) Open saved location and rename. Write your email & click on insert drop down box Click on "pictures inline " Open pictures. Open MP Navigator folder Choose scanned item by name Click on open box Scan will appear under the text in your email.

Check you power cord and your outlets too.

Please check USB cable first. If problem still persist, probably pcb assy of the scanner is faulty.

According to the service manual error code 6800 means that "A problem occurred in reading from or writing to the EEPROM". The suggested parts replacement is the logic board. You might also have to uninstall and reinstall the printer to get the display language back to English. they might not be all the way inplace sometimes they have to click into place, check that they are in the little "tracks" or lines they slide into

Ink Absorber Full This may clear the ink absorber problem. There is ink absorbers located at both ends of the printer where the ink head move. To dry the ink absorber, power up the printer and open the cover so the ink cartridges and print head will move to the middle of the printer. Then take several sheets of absorbent tissue, fold it into a pad and place it inside the printer over the ink absorber on the far left hand side of the printer to soak up the excess ink. You may need to change the absorbent tissue a few times. Then repeat the same procedure on the right hand ink absorber. Close the lid and the printer should now function normally.

Is mechanical problems,gears blocated,you must be remove the covers and look attent the transport drive mechanism components.

Check the ink cartridges level and perform head cleaner in the mantenance menu.

Please follow the steps below to hard reset the printer and let me know the result.1.Remove all the cables from the printer.2.Wait for 10 mins.3.Connect only the power cord and try to power on the printer.4.If the problem is solved, then connect all other cables, otherwise let me know.

You may have blocked print head nozzles.Try the printer maintenance to clear the printer nozzles.After several deep cleaning attempts and there is no improvements in the printthen a new print head is required.A new print head maybe expensive and it maybe more cost effective to purchase anew printer.

in the printer set up ( normally in the print section , change the color to black and white , make default and ok

have you tried uninstalling your printer and reinstalling it from scratch.
