My mp510 misses lines after

This worked for me a few times so far - i saw a picture guide on e-how but I can't find it at the moment.
Open the printer cover
Take out the printer cartridges, keep them upside down and put some sticky tape or the original orange seals that come with the cartridges over the outlet holes, then turn them back.
Remove the printhead by lifting up the grey lever and taking out the black printhead (it's the black half-box with 4 slots in it and the ink-filters at the bottom). Soak the box in cleaning solution overnight to dissolve the dried ink. Shake it off until it's dry and reload it all. Now try it.
If it's still got lines, it's a bit more of a hassle. Repeat the steps above, but you'll need to find a pen barrel to fit over the filters - one for the black and one for the colours, or cut them to size. Rinse the print-head in water, then submerge the print head half-way in water, fit one pen-barrel over the black filter and suck water in (it's not easy) until the water is clear. Do the same for each of the others with the other pen. Dry the print head by shaking it (don't use tissue - you can use a hairdryer) and re-install the whole lot. It's worked twice for me now. Try not to let the ink run dry which will help.

Canon PIXMA MP510 Printer says "no paper" please help!

Hi,

It is best that you take your printer to a certified service center for Canon, its possible that it just need cleaning and that something is tripping the sensor and sending the wrong signal. Gheck if the paper feeding sensor is ok, usually the trigger could be broken, compare it with the same printer and look for differences.

On the otherhand, if you are sure and you are a technical person with repair experience, please check with the Canon main distributor or sales office near you. They have parts specific to your needs, if not they can point you to the right place.

Another alternative is to go a Canon repair shop and ask if they have a scrap printer with the same model as yours.

Paper jam

Hi,

This particular error has a lot to do with some obstruction in the print path, the gears, or ink on the clear plastic encoder strip. You can find the the purge cap (the white sliding mechanism that the print head parks to when it's not in use) was not lubricated well enough from factory. If you lubricate the sliders with some white grease (don't get it on the small wipers or the black caps) the mechanism can now slide more freely, and the unit can park the head properly without giving you the dreaded head homing error 5100 (or E-2-2 on the LCD display). Keep in mind that this repair will probably require you to remove the right panel off of the printer to gain access to the purge mechanism. There are two screws behind the printer, and two in front for each corresponding side panel (the front screws are behind the grey front panel of the printer - open the top cover to see the clips which hold the front cover on).

Thank you !!

Since a recent power failure the printer will not

It is possible that the power supply in the printer has failed. You will need to open the power supply unit whichcis within the printer. Open the panels and get acess to the power supply which is a SMPS- switch mode poweer supply. Start from the fuse, the surge protector which could be short or the mains rectifier, mains capaccitor or the SM driver. Replace and proceed.Check for short inthe secondary side for fusible resisistors opening, for diode shorting or zener shorting. Also check for the optocoupler which feedsback the switch. Use a good multimeter to check. If you are not familiar ask a friend with electonics knowledge to help. However if you visibly notice a fault of a burnout replace and proceed. hope this helps. Good day

Pixma MP510

Hi,

There are several reasons to get this 5010 error in your printer but the most common one will be you would have caused this after pulling the printer to bits to fix a blockage. You can fix this issue by inserting the ribbon cables from the scanner into the circuit board properly.

Thank you !!

Cartridge is Ok but black will not print or copy

could be a clogged print head. or your purge unit isnt cleaning the print head properly. try to lightly clean the printhead with warm water. If that doesnt work you can sometimes find the printhead online for cheap and try that method.

More than one piece of paper feeds at a time

try fanning your paper before putting it into the printer, in moist climates the paper can absorb humidity and make it stick together.

Paper jammed inside printer and i cant see it

Hello there
You may not see a paper jam.

This may work for you, it has worked for many here I given this advice so gave it a try it could work for you. Generally when this happens, something has fallen into the printer, or a piece of paper has been jammed in there.

First step, remove the ink cartridge, and turn the printer upside down and gently shake it, see if anything comes out.

If nothing goes, or you can't hear anything rattling around, get a piece of cardstock paper (60lb or heavier) and gently push this through the printer, to see if it will help push out what might be stuck in there.

And gave the rode that the ink slides on a good clean and maybe a bit oil on cloth and wipe the rod with it.

Also clean The purge unit, called a spittoon assembly in an HP, Lexmark, Caonon and other inkjet printers, is where the print head assembly parks when not in use, also its other job is to clean and make sure the print head is clean and open for printing.

That is where you'll find the print head assembly parked on top of it.
It also has an electrical pump to milk the print heads and test for ink flow.

So clean all under where the heads are parked and on IP6600D models you can take out the heads just by clipping them out, and then clean well.

Please come back and just gave a vote, it will gave me some satisfaction to know am helping some one so I will keep on helping.
