Using a small needle their should be a hole in the front. This is the safety eject hole that will open the drive 99% of the time. Replacing the drive is just as easy. remove the few screws on the bottom of the laptop nearest the drive and grasp ahold of the bay and slide it away from the computer....hope this helped some....

My Akai LCT3201AD won't turn on
Normally the end model numbers signify a revision. Your LCD screen should work fine in the other one. Manufacture's tend to keep LCD screens within the same vendors for specific models for cheap replacements =)

Most failures of this nature are with dying or defective power supplies.

Akai 27" wide screen LCD/HDTV/DVD Combo
Some 1000uf electrolytic capacitors have failed on the power supply board (3x 16v & 2x 35v radial). You can get them at Radio Shack or your favorite parts house.
They are easy enough to replace if you are handy with a soldering iron. If not, bring the tv to a repair shop & tell them that you want the capacitors replaced on the power supply. It shouldn't be too expensive.
To get to the power supply, unplug the set from everything including power. Put the set face down on something soft that won't damage the screen. Remove all the screws from the rear cover, they have arrows pointing to them. When you get to the dvd player, care will be needed to get the cover off.
The power supply board is on the upper right side of the chassis and is not covered by anything. Look for the capacitors that are "bulging" on the top. These will need to be replaced. Good ones look flat on top.
Remove the bad capacitors noting there orientation (they are polarized). The "negitive" side will have a "band" printed on the capacitor. Go get the new ones & replace them carefully aligning the polarities correctly. Reassemble the case & you should be done.

It was not a problem. It is just a question. Is it HD ready or not without a converter box or cable?
