Try NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program.

You should take it to your local camera repair shop. They should be able to fix it.
Hope this helps.

If your screen works on playback etc.... and no signs of damage to the screen.... then there are several possibilities I can think of!

This is going to sound stupid/insulting (but has happened before!!!!!)..... Make sure you have the Lens cap taken off if your camera has one!!!

OK!, Didn't think that was the problem, but had to ask!!!

Try taking a pic of a Bright light.... Do you get anything on the screen at all?..... try moving the camera about a bit!..... Still nothing?

Does your Camera still take Video if you have a video mode?.... Camera uses data differently for video (due to frame rates etc) and might suggest a card fault if this is the case!..... Have you tried a compatible card from a friend or a spare if you have one?

The last suggestion to make at this stage, is that the CCD chip in the camera may have failed!.... Unlikely, but possible!.... Has the camera been exposed to extreme temperatures, or maybe someone has been pointing it at the Sun for extensive periods?

One last thing to try..... If you can find a 'Reset' or 'Return to Defaults' type option in the Menu system... TRY IT!.... Nothing to Loose!

Repair would most likely be quite expensive unless still under Warranty ..... Consider replacing... but check with a few different repair stores first... you may be lucky and get a quick fix for a few Quid!

Hope this Helps!.... Good Luck!!

The best type of battery to use for cameras is the NiMH (Nickel-metal-hydride) rechargeable type. U'll get all kinds of problems if you use the types you use for toys and things like that.
What I recommend to you is go to a studio/cam shop and ask for two AA sized NiMH batteries (I have checked ur cams' stats). they'll have only what's good for cameras (there're cheap NiMHs in the electronics market but those aren't good for cams)
Any NiMH batt. of the appropriate size will work on your cam, they will only differ in the number of hours ur cam can run on them.
Extra: There's an "mAh" rating (milliampere hours) written on batteries. This only decides how long ur cam will run. The power rating of ur cam is written somewhere on the cam (eg- 3.0---2.0A for my cam)
to estimate how long ur cam will run on ur batteries:
  • Multiply the average of that 'A' value by 1000 (A= Amperes. one Amp= 1000mA)
  • Then divide the battery's mAh rating by the answer of above. the value you get is approximately the time in hours you can run your camera on those batteries

Unfortunately there is no way out than to replace the LCD on the camera. You need to take an estimate of the cost of the LCD and decide.

I have contacted the maker of this camera and this is what he told me to do:
Shut off camera. Then take out the battery. Turn on and off the camera(this will reset the charge on the camera, reverting it back to its settings) Leave the battery out for a while, up to an hour and then out it back in and turn it on.

I hope this helps, please rate me 4 thumbs up so I get paid for helping you :)

Use a good quality lithium battery size "AA" such as Energizer e² Photo batteries. About $6 US for 4 pack.
Or you can use a good quality NiMh rechargeable . Choose one that has at least a 2000 such as Duracell. About $24US including charger. Good for at least several hundred recharges, although they will not take as many photos as the lithiums above.

Replace the battery if, even after you charge it, it shows Low Battery. If it is a new battery, your battery contacts in the camera may be faulty, or something in the camera may be faulty. I am sure it is just a bad battery though.

If it is giving a memory card error, try formatting the card on your computer. If it is still giving errors, the memory card may have died.
