No sound on video when i play it back on my PC

1. Install a multimedia player which can play the camera videos (.mp4, .mpeg, .dat files) like VLC Player, Real Player, KMP Player, etc.

3. You can also play these videos on the media player which came with the software bundle (CD) of your Sony Cyber Shot camera.

Visit someone who sells the same model and see if it does the same thing. Manufacturing fault or just your camera? Is it under warranty?

How do I keep date stamp from showing on my pictures taken with a Cannon SD4000?

SnapTouch can apply the date to photos. It is one of the major features of the program. Information is taken out of EXIF data of the photo file that the camera creates during shooting. You can also add any comment using SnapTouch and also apply it onto a shot. How to Use SnapTouch

In this case you should try some photo recovery software to rescue the lost photos from your camera, here are some programs you may rely on. Both programs can also recover videos and music.

Photo Recovery (for Windows)
Mac Photo Recovery (for Mac OS X)

Note: Before your photos are recovered, do not attempt to save more files to the camera memory card in case the original files(your photos) are overwritten.

It looks like you've cleared you camera card as well as your PC.

You need a file recovery programme. Plenty free either google file recovery freeware or go to filehippo.com and download either "Recuva" or"PC inspector file recovery"

Just remember you have to recover to a different source than you're recovering from because you may overwrite the very files you're trying to recover.

IE :- recover from PC to USB flash drive.

What is the best battery use in Sony Cyber-shot DSC-S500

The DSC-S500 uses standard AA batteries, either disposable alkalines or rechargeable NiMHs. If you use rechargeables, they must be charged outside the camera using a separate charger. The choice is up to you. The camera will take more photos on a set of alkalines than on one charge of NiMHs, and alkalines are cheaper. However the NiMHs can be recharged and used again, while alkalines are one-use.

Performing a manual power reset

Turn off the camera.

Remove the battery pack.

Press and hold the power button for 30 seconds.

Allow the camera to remain without power for 60 seconds.

Reinsert the battery pack.

Turn on the camera.

To reset the Camera back to factory default, select the INITIALIZE Option from the SET UP1 Menu of the Camera to OK.This will set the user defined settings back to factory default. The images and videos will not get deleted.

If the issue persists, service may be required.

Thanks,

ALTERNATE WAY TO TRANSFER PHOTOS TO COMPUTERIf your photos are stored on the memory card, then removethe memory card from the camera and insert it into an USB memory card reader.Connect this USB memory card reader and memory card into the USB port of yourworking computer. Your computer will see this as an USB Mass Storage Device oran external storage device; you can then open the folder on the memory card andcopy the photos to your computer.Memory card reader is a handy device and is inexpensive. Youcan copy photos from other cameras and you can also download photos off yourmemory card to someone else's computer without the need of installing anyprograms.

Blurry pictures

Check to see what the setting is for Image Size (I have sony cybershot DSC-w50). On the camera itself, it is the button on the bottom. My camera was on the 8"x10" size and I was getting blurry shots (especially with people in them). I switched it to the 4x6 print size and it seems to be much clearer.

Upoload with vista operating system

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as Windows Photo Gallery or Picasa.
