Has audio but why no video?
Back - light problem. Check and replace damaged component/s at its back-light inverter board, or replace this board as card basis. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts. It will be best to replace the inverter board as card basis.

To some model sets; especially LED back-lighted types; the back-light inverter circuit will be part of the main power supply board [SMPS]. In such cases, the power supply board might need replacement.

Lg plasma power
Begs the question how do you know the power has gone out if you see the red standby LED then.
Why is it you think it's the power? Why not the main board?
The power supply board is known to go bad on 50PA5500 as well as the top buffer board.
Both can fail in a way that makes the TV to click on and right back off.
The buffer may also fail in a way that allows the TV to turn on without anything on the screen.
And of course failures on other boards may cause the same symptoms too.
Without more details there isn't much I can help with other than pointing to some common problems and solutions to the TV:

Hope it helps!

I have the LG Plasma model 50PA550. the TV turns
If you're an electronics DIY...I had the same problem, TV turns on then immediately turns off. Fixed it with an 89 cent capacitor. TV is an LG 50PA5500, two and a half years old. Suddenly stopped working...would switch it on and it would immediately turn off. Sometimes if I left it unplugged for a while and plugged it back in, then it would click at intervals of 1 & 5 seconds repeatedly.
Inspection of the main power board showed C802, a black rectangular film capacitor at the top of the board between the transformer and heatsksink was bulging at the sides. Found the part, 0.022uF 1.25KVDC, on DigiKey (p/n 495-1360-ND) for $0.89 + ~$3 shipping (much cheaper & more reliable than eBay!). Replaced, TV working like new again.

I have a LG dvd
player 5083 inserted the disc the correct way into the draw but the machine does not play the disc a very slight humming noise is heard then it spits the drawer back out
Clean the Lens: Use a DVD cleaning disc to clean the lens. If the problem persists, consider professional cleaning.
Test Other Discs: Try playing different DVDs to see if the issue occurs consistently. If it's specific to one disc, that disc might be the problem.
Check for Updates: Make sure your DVD player's firmware is updated. Refer to the manufacturer's instructions for firmware updates.
Try a Different TV: Connect your DVD player to a different TV to see if the noise disappears. If it does, the issue might be with your TV.
The hum is simply the player trying to read the disc. It can't so, it spits it out.
Remember that prolonged use of a malfunctioning DVD player could potentially cause damage. If the problem persists, consider seeking professional repair or replacement
