Hate to be the bearer of bad news but, Dell has had issues the with Nvidia GPU overheating and going bad. Have had to replace mine twice already on a 2 year old Inspiron. If its still under warranty send it to dell. They will replace the GPU.

My Dell inspron e1505 dvd/cd drive does not work

Here is an auction on ebay for the item you're looking for (it says that the drive works in the e1505, you may want to verify that with the seller).

This is a youtube video detailing how to swap out the drive.

Good luck!

Dell 9400 battery problem

Hi bockobulb,

There's a good chance if the casing got damaged that the connector that connects the battery pack to the system was also damaged. First I'd suggest trying another compatible battery pack if you can get your hands on one. Bear in mind that there can be damage to the connector even if it's not visible.

Something happened to my monitor screen .

Sound like your screen is going out, it could also be the inverter. Could also be the video card, but not likely. Before you go to changing out any hardware, go into the device manager and un-install the monitor drivers. The hardware wizard should pickup the monitor automatically and reinstall the drivers. Then look for any driver updates at the Dell support site. If that does nothing then it's either the screen or inverter.

Error code 5300:0119

I have had a few Dell's through my shop with this problem. I have tried the recommended bios flash, and updated video drivers, with no success. Unfortunately, the only sure fix for this is to replace the video card. Now keep in mind, that this is a major undertaking, the video card is integrated into the motherboard. This is a job for an experienced components tech, and is usually cheaper to replace the motherboard. Most computer service shops won't even attempt it, and will tell you motherboard replacement right off the bat.

Fast overheating inspiron 9400

This sounds like the system has glitched. Do a system repair with your recovery or operating system disc. This should clear the glitch, get it back up and running, and cure the overheating problem. Try this and get back to me if there are any issues.

Media Buttons At The Front

Sounds like this may be a driver glitch. Try uninstalling the drivers for the quick play buttons from the device manager, then reboot. It will find the hardware an reinstall the drivers. If the problem persists, then disable the buttons either in the system bios or the device profile in the device manager.

Wi fi light off

Hello Lisa

(01) Is the switch for your WiFi radio in the ON position?

(02) If it is, then it's possible your WiFi connection is (in your operating system) disabled or missing.

(03) If your operating system is Windows Vista, please, go HERE to learn how to access your network connections.

(04) If your operating system is Windows XP
(a) Click on START
(b) Click on NETWORK CONNECTIONS

(05) In either case, make sure your wireless connection is showing there.

(06) If your wireless connection is showing in your network connections, it is likely disabled. In that case, right click on it and choose ENABLE.

(07) Now, let's see if your WiFi LED lights back up for you.

(08) If it doesn't or if there was not a wireless connection in your network connections, please, post back here and let us know. We'll work w/ you to determine why it's missing.

Thank you,
BJ @:)
