Sony VAIO VGN-FJ270/B Notebook - Answered Questions & Fixed issues
Trading In A Laptop
i believe sony has a trade in program but they probably won't give you what it is worth. if it is in good condition try selling it on e-bay. if you don't know how to do that there may be people in your area that will post it and sell it on e-bay for a fee.

Restart your Sony Vaio computer.
Press the "F2" key to enter the BIOS.
Use the arrow keys to highlight the "Load BIOS Defaults" menu option. Select it by pressing "Enter."
Highlight "Load BIOS Defaults" again and hit "Enter." This
will reset all of the settings of your Vaio's BIOS back to their

we need to determain if your camera is still installed properly. Click the start button now just above it you will see a rectangle search box in that type device manager click enter now in that list you need to find your camera (Imaging Device) & see if it's installed. if there is a arrow next to it this means there is something wrong possibly uninstalled or needs a driver update, so right click on it then left click on update driver hopfully that helps

Sony vaio motion eye
Windows Vista is not the greatest at working on proprietary machines with drivers intended for XP. Can you get a driver from SONY for the motion eye that supports VISTA? I had Vista on my new machine (Dell) for all of 3 minutes before I uninstalled it and put a brand new copy of XP on. It's stable -- and works. Vista is squirrelly.

Sony vaio vgn-fj270 no sound from the speakers but headphones will work
Check your audio properties to make sure the volume is turned up and not
muted. Click Start/Control Panel or Start/Settings/Control Panel and
look for Audio or Sound. Check the volume and make sure it is not on
mute. You can also click the megaphone at the bottom right near the time to check the Audio Properties.Try downloading and reinstalling the drivers.
Get online
and got to www.google.com In the google search box type: "Sony
Support" (without the quotes and put your manufacturer name before Support).
Look for downloads and drivers. Enter your model number and operating
system when requested. Download and install the Audio drivers.
Try the VLC Player. It comes with drivers and codec. I've seen it solve sound and audio issues.
Try using VLC as your player. Go to www.google.com and
in the search box type "download vlc" (without the quotes).
Look for the Video Lan download from site www.videolan.org/vlc Download
and install it. It downloads and installs in 3 minutes or so. It's
a very fast player, smooth and it can play just about any type of dvd formats
and media. It's totally FREE.
