Set all items up ready to be installed Plug in your mouse and keyboard into the back of the tower. If u are using the old style connectors these have pins and will also be colour coordinated so you know where to plug into tower. They will have a notch inside so plug in carefully so not to break pins. If they are USB connections they will be square at the end and u will see where these plug in at the back of the tower these do not have colour coordination as u can plug in anywhere. Next your VGA cable, this is the cable that looks the same both ends with 15 pins in it. One end goes into your monitor and the other into the back of the tower these are shaped so they only fit in one way, again caution that you do not force in as you could bend the pins. Next ensure u have the power leads into the tower and the monitor, these are the cables with a plug on one end and a female 3 hole socket at the other, u will see where these plug into both devices. Next plug into wall ensuring socket is off first Then switch on Switch on your tower....monitor should come on by itself, if not hit the power button on your monitor Voila ...done

Start with the chipset driver first.

Go to this link and click on your Operating system type your computer has then look on the next page for chipset drivers and download that should get you what you need if not download the monitor drivers as well.

if you Google ( installing a slave hard drive ) you will find several good videos on that. easier for you to look at those then for me to try and get all the info typed out.

You need the Display and Graphics drivers. Click here to go the download page. It is a good idea to update all the other drivers as well if not done already.

try booting in safe mode. keep pressing F8 when the computer boots up till a screen with options come. select safe mode with networking. if it boots, then install avira antivirus(it is available for free download). seems like a worm/virus. if not i recommend reinstallation.
my suggestion with my personal experience is to get a clean new installation and be cautious about connecting drives/ network before a antivirus is installed.

That switch is there to select between European and US voltage - if the pc has worked before then leave it as it is. Change it to the wrong setting and the power source will be fried.
Your pc doesn't start because you have a hardware fault.  Disconnect the data cable from the hard disk and try again. Next you must test the power source itself , outside of the pc - take it out then connect the green wire from the big connector to the black wire next to it; if the fan of the source doesn't start then it's fried, replace it. If it does then you must try the other components. If you haven't done that before , or if you don't have other components to swap for testing ,  then it's time to take it to a shop, nothing more you can do to it

Best place to look is the Compaq website. If you cannot find it there, you could try using a driver finder program to locate the right driver for your sound card. Those programs will identify the hardware by device id and use that together with the Windows info to get a matching driver.

pci drivers r available from the products u purchase for ur slot. no need to install pci drivers without any card in your pci slot,
