Greetings, the problem is that the printer has to re-start to function. So you should check that the mechanism has no paper, my recommendation is to take you to a repair center to check it because you will probably have broken parts.

Troubles with the connection or power supply could be another issue causing failure to print in your printer. If there is any loose connection or error in the cables or connection, your printer might fail to work at all. The problem might be easily averted if you are checking the connection and ensuring that all the connection are intact. You might disconnect the cables and reconnect them, to ensure that they are intact.

Error code 1203 for a

Hello thanks for using FixYa
Error code 1203 means that you have a print head short error

By this solution you may fix it

  • Clean the contacts on the cartridge with a damp cloth. To make sure that you are not smearing ink all over the contacts do it only in one direction.
  • Now disconnect and then reconnect the power cord from the wall and from the back of the printer and then wait about almost 30 seconds, and then plug everything back in.
If this doesn't work, you may need to replace the ink cartridges. But most of the time this error remove by it so you can try it one more time just to be sure.

I hope this solution will helpful 4 u

My Dell 924 CLAIMS it

check the feed rollers for a dirt build up , they can be cleaned with a damp cloth, the probable cause is slipping feed, the printer expects paper and none is fed due to the slipping of the rollers.

look where the front edge of the paper sits, there are rollers there that bring the paper into the printer, clean them.

Are you using Dell Series 5 ink cartridges?

Unplug the printer from the wall. Now remove the power brick from the back of the printer for 60 seconds. Plug everything back in. This will reset any error messages the printer has.

Power on the printer. Open the printer and take out the Dell Series 5 Black cartridge. make sure all the tape is off the cartridge and put the cartridge back in. Now do the same for the Dell Series 5 color cartridge.

Close the printer. It should print an alignment page. Any error messages?

Black cartridge = black side(left side) color cartridge = color side(right side)

Photo cartridge = black side(left side) color cartridge = color side(right side)

Dell Series 5 ink cartridges have a sensor in them that cannot be reset. Article on refilling Dell ink cartridges.

Dell Series 5 ink cartridges can be purchased at Staples, Walmart or Dell's Website.

If these ink cartridges are new, then take them to the place of purchase for a refund or replacements. If they're old, then try purchasing a new Dell Series 5 ink cartridge.

Keeps telling me to clear paper jam but I dont see

look on the back to see if there is a removable plate that will expose the rollers. On my HPs I have to clear a paper jam when ever the paper in the tray absorbs too much moisture. A sheet gets crumpled in the rollers where you cannot see it and the back plate allows me to pull the crumpled sheet clear. That is also where the paper sensor is located.

There is almost always something in the paper path. We have found makeup brushes, push pins, paper clips, insect parts, jigsaw puzzle pieces, coins, toys etc. If all else fails, turn it upside down and shake.
For the printers that can't be fixed with turning upside down and shaking, there's the secondary method that fixes most of the rest. What we do in our shop is run a piece of thin 3X12 flexible plastic up and down along the paper path. It has to be stiff enough so it doesn't kink up and strong enough to shove out any blockage. We've fixed hundreds of printers this way, even ones where nothing seemed to come out. In the absence of plastic, you can use some stiff cardboard or cut a piece of file folder to fit. You want to be careful around the paper sensor arms as if you get aggressive, you can break those and then you have more problems. So don't force anything. Be firm, but gentle.
All the Best.....

No, might as well buy a new one rather than have it fixed. You can try cleaning the encoder strip. It's a clear plastic strip that runs though the printer cartridges. I clean mine with a light alcohol on an old T-shirt (or other soft cloth). clean one side then move it to the other and clean that side. But be easy, the encoder strip is a pain to put back on if you pull it off (and it does come off easy).

Mine just had that problem. I cleaned the encoder strip with alcohol and a soft cloth (old T-shirt). Got a bunch of grime off it and now it works fine, thankfully. ;) But be careful with the encoder strip, my kids like to pull it out and it's not easy to put back on. Plus if you bend it or break it it's not easy to replace.
