Normally the light level of the lamp (not bright)
if it is the lamp then in my experience it will be beyond economic repair.
have a look around the machine to see if it has a scanner lock and unlock it

Disconnect the Power Cord ( while printer is power on), While holding the Power Button Connect the Cord and release the power button on printer after 5 seconds

I have hp printer model R45
I got scanner error and printer asked me to turn power off and on. I turn the power off/on. Its about a month the Problem has started

In the 'printer dialogue' window that comes up when you try to print, look under properties or preferences............ have you accidentally got the 'Print in greyscale' box ticked?

See the plus sign beside software utility on this HP page? Click that and it shows the setup program for the printer which you must download. One such is for offline installation and that is how you would install it after downloading it to your download folder. YOu double click on the file there to get it to run AFTER you are offline, if you choose that option. I see there is a CRITICAL firmware update that needs downloading and installation as well. Do NOT attempt to install them simultaneously but rather sequentially. Ahhh. A fellow OfficeJet 4652 owner. I own one too. In your print driver, you want to click quality, and then normal.

There still must be a small scrap of paper in the printer.

Try taking out the printhead and let it soak in "window cleaning" solution overnight or for about 8 hours. It should unclog the printhead nozzle. Put it in about half inch of the solution. It always worked for me. Make sure you wipe it dry un the back of the printhead when putting back into the printer.

The Officejet 8710 printer can face paper mismatch issues if the paper settings are not set properly in the Print Preview box. Try setting the Paper Type option to Plain in the settings window that appears before performing the print. Change the settings to 8.5 x 11 in both the copier and the printer setting.
