Maytag 7800C stacking washer/dryer. Dyer stops
Hi,
The symptoms you describe are consistent with a drive motor failing. The motor for the stacked units runs about $180.00 and would typically cost about another $150.00 labor for a reputable company to replace it.
Let me know if you have questions.
Dryer not generating adequate heat. needing
I would check heating element also on the heating element box is a thermostat probably need to check that also take the wires off the heating element and use an ohm meter to check it out it should register and not go to infinity. Same for the heating thermostat.
Why do the stackable washers always overflow with
Overflowing can be caused by a faulty pressure switch or tube from switch to the tub. It is operated by air pressure from water filling in the tub. If this does not activate then the inlet valve will continue to allow water to enter the machine. If it is overflowing during spin only it is most likely something obstructing the pump. If it is filling the tub even when the machine is off the problem is the inlet valve.

OK it may be one of 2 things. I would check the lid switch first. On some maytags the have a lid switch that if it is not working properly it will not let the washer fill. If it will not fill the washer will not wash because the pressure switch did not activate the timer to wash. If the switch checks good you might have a bad timer. If you open the control panel you will find a tech sheet with the wiring diagram. I would follow the fill cycle and check the components. You might also check the water valve to make sure its ok too. But its very rear that both the hot and cold would go at the same time. Good luck!
Leaking water while washing but not by every
Are you putting clothes in first or as you fill the machine??? This is a normal capacity washer, so you need to be sure to fill with clothes first, I believe this will cure it. If that isn't your trouble, you may have a level switch that isn't working correctly. That would be easy enough to fix. Check on High, Med and Low levels and see how much water goes in, if it looks high on any of them, you can use that leveling screw on the level switch itself to regulate how high or low it goes. UNPLUG the machine when inside, so you don't shock yourself, Make your adjustment, then replug and try before you reassemble the machine. Unplug for that too, just to be safe. :) let me know how it works out for you
Washer won't start, but dryer works fine? it is a LSE7806ACE
Without the model number this is just a guess but some of the maytag stacks have a fuse for the washer. Remove the 2 screws at the bottom of the front panel for the washer and look along the left front side where the water level switch is and you may see a fuse there. If there is one this fuse is probably blown.
WASHING MACHINE STOPPED WASHING
It sounds like the lid switch is not activated when the lid is closed. The lid switch is where the power to the drive motor is routed and its failure disables the motor. Check if you can hear the motor hums indicating that it is running when the lid is closed. The lid switch is indeed not working if the motor is running; otherwise, the belt is either broken or has slipped off the pulley if the washer is belt drive or the motor coupler is broken. Please specify the exact model number of the washer for specific and accurate troubleshooting and repair advice
