Hi Everyone,

our MV800 was doing the the same so i "accidentally" dropped it (i got a bit frustrated and it was out of warranty) and now it works fine. please note it dropped about half a meter on carpeted floor while it was off.

Hope this helps

This is usually caused by an oxidized, misaligned or defective Audio/Video drum. You can try running a cleaning tape through the camera. If this does not solve the problem the camera will need to be serviced by a qualified service technician.

This can be caused by several problems including a defective eject switch in the cameras internal circuitry or a bad motor and can usually be repaired fairly inexpensively. However, it's not a user serviceable problem and will need to be repaired qualified service technician.

You need to connect the camera to the PC with the appropriate cable - you may need a FireWire - IEEE 1394 USB converter - and then, well, it depends. If you want to look at the movie on the PC, you can use the supplied ZoomBrowser EX software.

If you want to create a movie viewable on other PCs, you'll have to convert it to a portable enough format such as Windows Media Format.

julyallan01_2.jpgMaybe, It doesn't work because the driver you installed. It is for other versions of operating system. I am also using windows 7 like you.Dont worry, You can still use your installer/driver from other versions of operating systems. Before you installing any program in a windows 7 Operating System Computer, Use "troubleshoot compatibility". Right Click the Icon of your program installer first, then choose "troubleshoot compatiblity". This will allow you to choose on what type operating system your program will run. Just reply back if it still doesn't work.:D

Tape mechanism problems are quite complicated but they can usually be repaired fairly inexpensively. However, it's not a user serviceable problem and will need to be diagnosed by a qualified service technician.

I would expect bad electrolytic capacitors from the symptoms you are mentioning.

Can you connect it to an external monitor to see if the rest is functioning and that maybe you just have a bad monitor on the unit?
