How to refill home a/c

If you dont know refrigeration better leave it to an expert. Lot of people dont like dealing with window ac because of the high cost of labor. Some tips. If you can remove it from the window to the outside and remove the case and panels on it. this will save you money. If you can clean the evaporator and condensor this will save you money. All he has to do is maybe add a tap valve and leak check and refill the ac, this will save you money. Look in the phone book for someone that does service. Hope this helps.

Water running inside the a/c

In the drain pan under the unit (the part that is outside the window), there is a drain hole, that drains the accumulated moisture/water. It's clogged and that's why you can't see it. Or it may be a small gap in the rear of the drain pan, that' s supposed to do the same thing. If the unit is sitting perfectly level (front to back), the water does not drain well. A slight slope helps.

Hope this helped you to troubleshoot and solve the problem.

Leaking water from front

you need to slope it outward farther its leaning inward at a slope toward the inside, make it lean slightly toward the outside, but not too far as the water is used to cool the compressor in some units with the slinger fan,use a level to correct this or a pencil or marble, when the pencil or marble starts to roll away from the window outside your angle is correct,if it rolls toward the house it still needs adjusting

Carpet wet under window air con.

The air conditioner needs to be "tilted" or "pitched" to the rear. By this I mean the back (outside) should be slightly lower than the front (inside). This will allow the water to run toward the back of the unit, and drip on the ground instead of inside the house - on the floor. The A/C unit must not be level or tilted into the room (front even with or lower than the rear).

This water is the result of condensation that is created when the warm room air is drawn through the much cooler coil & fins inside the unit and is completely normal. The more humid the air inside is, the more condensation will form, and drain away.

Good luck!

If the machine is really nasty then the best way is to take them out of the window and remove the outer metal covering which is usually held on by screws. I've stripped them down to wash them out a couple times but its no easy task.

All day long My A.C. steadily leaks, when I turn

This is completely normal. What is happening is condensation of water on the condenser coils of your air conditioner. This is why when you install it should be slightly leaning downwards towards the outside to drain this. The only thing you need to make sure of is keeping a steady air flow or you risk icing the water up on the coils. Make sure that you keep the filters clean and you'll be fine.

I have a Maytag window air conditioner that is leaking out front

The unit has to lean backward to let the water run out. It sounds like it is too level or leaning forward too much. There should be an adjusting screw in back that you can lower and it should work fine.
