if nothing is broken, then try to put it back to it's pevious possition, tush gently down, until it clicks....do not use much power...

Usually the "delete" on macs key does the same as the "backspace" on Windows/pc's, which erases typing going backward. The "del" or Delete key on non-mac computers usually means it erases things forward. Also the classic "ctl + Alt + del" usually stops processing the current application or opens a window to control which programs are running/freezing.

reboot your system and see if it reconnects, if not remove your receiver reboot your system plug your reciever in on your desk top it should say adding new hardware, or found on the buttom of you mouse it should be a pairing button press and hold down led should flash and reconnect if not call the manufactor/

For non bluetooth you can synchronise the mouse and keyboard with laptop dongle by pressing synchronise button on bottom side of keyboard or mouse and also on the dongle.A steady green light indicates synchronisation. For bluetooth check regular bluetooth settings.

reset the mouse and receiver

Have you tried to resync the mouse with the receiver. Usually,you need to press the button on the reciever first, then quickly hit the button on bottom of the mouse.
