If you are talking about the wireless transmitter--well, without it, you are dead in the water. I would say you could contact Logitec to see if you can get another one. The adapter and keyboard/mouse are paired to each other.

change your key board

Thank you for using FixYa
More than likely you have jammed a key and it stuck, try and see if a key is depressed and pull it up with your fingers or a toothpick or popsicle stick, use something that won't scratch it. You might try to turn it upside down and tap on the back with your hand. There may be a piece of paper stuck in the keys and in that case a pair of tweezers might remove it. The key tops will actually pop off and can be pressed back down. If all that does not get it then most keyboard has some screws on the back and can be removed. Look under the legs, sometimes they hide there. If that still does not work, check and see if the cord is plugged in or twisted.

I hope this was useful and please comment if this was helpful to you.

If it is wireless, make sure the light is on the mouse and also do a reset on the keyboard and the mouse. Reboot the computer as well.

Well, you have identified the problem. You may be able to take the keyboard apart and dry it out. Try using a blow dryer at low or no heat setting.
Then hit up your sis for the $$ to buy a new keyboard if this doesn't work!

have you pressed the connect button underneath the keyboard and on the receiver connected to the computer? in most cases, that does the trick.
