This depends on how you have it hooked up. You're going to need a Tuner. A simple method is to connect only the Yellow RCA cable (or composite cables) to your T.V. Then connect Red and White RCA cables to the Tuner/Surround sound system you're using on which ever input you're comfortable with. I.E. CD/AUX/TAPE..etc. Change your tuner to that input, and you should get your surround sound through the speakers. Make sure you change the input on your T.V. to what ever video source you got the wires in. If your tuner allows you to hook up a video source to it, you can just hook it up to the tuner and run the DVD player off the tuner only. The first option helps avoid confusion if your tuner isn't set up for any other devices to play video through it.

Hi i have a NEC PlasmaSync Plasma Monitor which was given to me ages age, im trying to connect an antenna to watch free to air tv but there dosnt seem to be one?? The model is Px42vm5hw.. can anybody help me as i have watched every dvd i own!!!

te power pack inside the tv has gone bad and needs replacement, contact manufacturer for parts.

The plasma panels operate on 170VDC and 60VDC, Sound like the 170VDC from the power supply is low or dropping low. You need a tech to look at it, the voltage sources are marked on the board and the adjustment is labeled. Typically a component such as a regulator or capacitor is leaking to cause the voltage to drop.

Sounds like you had a power supply go bad in the unit which would require some extensive troubleshooting. I'd recommend a repair facility since it may be time consuming without mfg support.

I have the same problem,

first poser supply lasted just over three years at 92-- foot elevation,  the next one lasted 3 months, just long enough to get past parts warranty, and NEC/local tech wants $800 to replace the power supply that took 3 months to get in before.

 

Nope, just bought a new HD Vizio and moved on.  Better picture and BIGGER picture.

Check in the menu to see if the speakers are turned off. If not report back here.

You can purchase a tv stand from Amazon or your local Walmart I believe they have them in stock.
