Please make sure that the cable from your computer is connected to the green port. if it is connected to the front port of the computer please try the port at the back. If you have spare cable it would be better to check if the cable is not working.

Sounds like you're missing the proper drivers. Download the latest drivers from the manufacturer's website and you'll be set to go.

This problem and the error beep codes indicate a lamp that needs to be replaced. The correct part number for the lamp is VT85LP. Basically the lamps are rated with a life expectancy of 2000 hours. At the 2001 lamp hour (3001 in eco-mode) the LCD projector will power on, but not display an image, due to the indicator requesting the lamp be replaced and the lamp hours reset (hold the help button on the remote for 10 seconds when powering it on).

If there is an active job printing or copying when you try to logon, you will receive this error. Check the ;Jobs; tab and wait until the job is complete.

At the password prompt, if you press the alpha key you can get the date the terminal thinks it is. use that. Sometimes some terminals are wrongly programmed therefore the internal clock may be off, setting the password off.

If it is the lamp there is usually an indication to inform you. A light will flash or change colour etc. If the ballast unit has failed or a fan has stopped working a similar effect will be produced.

I'm a techie with a school district and have the same problem. My suspicion is it's a lamp issue, though the teacher using it says there was no low hours warning. Unfortunately I don't have a spare to try out so if anyone can state categorically that it IS the bulb then I will purchase one.

Yes they are the same. Both machines are made by Konica Minolta. They share most all the same parts. Some of the consumable parts like toner and Imaging unit are slightly different.
Both are very good machines.
