After years of synching beautifully,

Thank you for using fixya.com

Its been a pleasure working with you.

My suggestion to recover your data is put that old hard drive into another enclosure then run the time machine again for the recovery process.

This will get your calendar back in order again.

It is a little involved to take out the old hard drive and put it in a new enclosure you might have to take it to a computer expert in your area.

If the drive is crashed then yeah you would need data recovery witch does run $60 per hour.

I hope your satisfied with out phone call.

Regards,

The display on my Palm

I would consider this more of a hardware problem than software. some component is going faulty.. most probably the display IC or LCD itself. but first, i would recommend re-soldering the LCD connector. then test. check picture below.
thanks

try screen calibration. you can find it in prefs. the lines may be because your device fell or experienced some kind of shock. if screen calibration still won't work try downloading powerdigi (it's not free though, you can try first the demo) it calibrates screen almost perfectly! :)
Try cleaning the sides of the screen using cloth or thin paper to remove dust. accumulated dust may cause the lines. if not, ask for repair centers though it is very costly.

Need instructions to complete a hard reset

  1. Press and hold the Power (on/off) button on the front panel of your device.
  2. While holding Power, use an unfolded paper clip, or the reset tool at the tip of your stylus. Gently press and release theRESET button inside the hole on the back panel of your device. (the reset hole is on the back of the device)
  3. If you see a progress bar , keep holding the Power button.
  4. Next, the Palm Powered screen will appear. Release the Power button when you see it.
  5. You'll see a screen that asks: Erase all data? YES = "up" button NO = any other button. Press UP on your 5-way navigator to complete the hard reset.

Your device will then take you through a series of screens to calibrate the digitizer and verify the time and date.

Note: A hard reset does not delete the current date and time. It does restore other settings to the factory default.
