Ice maker not making ice after electric buzzing/grinding noise

I have a feeling that the condenser has overheated due to lack of ventilation or overload... in which case it could be stuffed! same happened to mine and had that clay stuff melting as well... took it to an aircon mechanic and he had a look and said new parts would cost more than a new ice maker :( that suckt! lol! so bought new one....

When it is lcooling it has now begun tomake loud vibrations.

it is most likely from the frame of the fridge that the compressor is mounted on vibrating on the floor I use two door wedges ( available from the hardware shop and I push one under either side a bit to get clearance from the floor the noise stopped but the problem is that there is nothing available on the market to replace the wedges rubber buttons under the plate worked but to stop the noise they tend to make the fridge unstable when opening the door or the front of the fridge has to be adjusted up so that the door self closes try that and if it works the you are on the right rack if not you may have to get the compressor rubber mounts replaced as they may have collapsed and allow the compressor to hit on the plate

Water leaking from the bottom of frig

Your  deforst drain is clogged.  Every 12 hours or so your fridge does a deforst cycle.  It melts all of the ice built up on the evap coils.  There is a drain at the back of the fridge that goes to a pan by the compressor where the heat from the compressor and the condensor coils evaporates it.  Take the back panel off of the freezer compartment and plunge out that hole.  You will most likely have a build up of ice over the top of the drain.

My maytag side by side has water froze on bottom of freezer what can I do

There is a good chance the freezer drain is plugged up. You will have to remove the back panel and pour hot water in the dain area to thaw the ice and then flush the drain.

What would make our maytag side by side drip water up top near the freezer side. I just noticed today that the door on frig side doesn't seem to be closing tight. Anything we can do?

not sure what is blocking your door from closing tight. there are adjustment screws on the top of the door hinges under the plastic caps that align the doors.(they are there on my maytag side by side). the water could be from some ice buildup in side the housing at the top of the inside of your fridge where the flap opens up to send cold air from the freezer to the fridge, especially if your door has not been closing properly that will ice up trying to keep the fridge cold. remove everything from your fridge, unplug it and take a blow dryer to that housing to remove any ice buildup on the flap then plug it back in. there are also diagnostic checks you can do using the temperature control buttons to test if the flap is working properly as well. they are in your owners manual.

Maytag refrigerator will not dispense water

When you use a glass and try to get water, if you hear a click or buzzing sound, the water switch is working, if not it is an electrical problem, the water solenoid valve could be bad, or the switch. One other thing to check is the filter on the water line. Some have an extra filter. Turn the water off, disconnect the filter and see if you can blow through the filter. There is a screen filter just before the water valve check it to.

Why does the freezer work but the fridge does not cool down

You have a defrost, or air circulation problem. If there is ice on the inside of the freezer walls it is probably a defrost problem, provided the freezer fan motor is running. If it isn't running the fan motor is the problem. If the motor is running it is a defrost problem. Three things can cause a defrost problem, the defrost heater is bad, the defrost terminator is bad, or the defrost timer is bad. On the newer refrigerators the defrost is controlled by a control circuit board. If it is bad it can be expensive. If you have an older refrigerator, I recommend replacing the defrost timer, the defrost heater and defrost terminator. When one goes bad, it effects the stability for the other parts to function properly, so replacment of all is best.

Freezer side and fridge side not working, temps are freezer 30 fridge 50

Most likely the condenser coil is dirty. It is under the fridge, clean it with a vacuum, or air pressure, blow it out outside it will ne dusty . There are two to three fans. One by the compressor, called a condenser fan. If it is a side by side, usually there is a fan in the freezer section, and one in the refrigerator section. All need to work. If all this is and the compressor is running then chances are the compressor has bad valves. Make sure there is no ice on the coils in the refrigerator and freezer coils. If there is ice you have a defrost problem, which can be fixed. If the compressor has bad valves, get a new refrigerator.

Freezer leaks water even after water supply turned off

Remove the food from the lower portion of the freezer and remove the 2 screws which hold the rear freezer panel on . Remove the panel and use a hair dryer to defrost the ice built up over the drain . Once you see the black drain hole , concentrate on defrosting the hole . Once defrosted , the ice water will drain into the hole . I would use a small hose inserted into the drain and blow thru , to remove any debris built up inside the drain . Reinstall the panel and food .

Water is on floor at bottom of freezer door

You defrost drain is blocked by ice or sludge. Most refrigerators defrost every eight hours and over a period of time the drain line that comes down from freezer into a cup like object top middle and back of the fresh food section. If blocked by gunk or ice you will see trails of liquid leaking down the rear wall of fresh food compartment until it reaches the crisper drawers. This is not always the same with every model as you may see frozen ice flowing down ther rear wall of freezers on side by sides. Here is an example Click here=> Whirlpool Leak Photo taken by TechnicianBrian He has been around a good bit and deserves credit for his contributions. Here is another way to make this look more si mple in clip below. TechnicianBrian.com And in this photo are several parts listed in photo group #1 were it is most likely running down the wall=> MagicChef CTB1921AR fresh food section. If you still have questions please ask and rate me if I was able to explain this well enough. Every refrigerator is made different so these are examples only. The key is to find if ice or just gunk has blocked you defrost drain. Unplug and then remove the rear panel in back of freezer. We need to see if the water is overflowing the condensate drain tray or if the blockage is in the turn the drain leads down back of your refrigerator. Much more on this page=> Leaking Refrigerators! This is a common tip so I will be placing this post and add as we go new ideas listed in Sea Breeze Tips Section. Refrigerator ice dispenser freezes up

Refrigerator ice makers can fail for several reasons, some simple and some tricky. First, look for kinks in the water supply line tubing. Carefully roll your fridge away from the wall to inspect the line and connections located behind it. Straighten any kinks. Note: Use caution when attempting to straighten the 1/4-inch soft copper tubing. It can easily break! If your system includes a water filter, the filter may be clogged or installed incorrectly. Check your manual and replace as needed, or have a qualified professional do it for you.Check the ejector arm (inside and under the bin) and the delivery chute (on the door, below the bin outlet) for blockage. Use a plastic utensil to clear them as needed. For additional troubleshooting steps and solutions, see Ice maker not working. I hope this helps!
