IDE #0 is your primary hard drive.

Toshiba's System Errors indicate that the error 0201 Failure IDE #0 may be caused by bad contact points where the drive plugs into the laptop chassis. Toshiba recommends pulling the hard drive in and out several times to clean up the male/female contact points.

Toshiba also said that if this doesn't work to contact one of their service centers for assistance.

The contact points solution rarely works, but is worth a try. Most likely, your hard drive failed and needs to be replaced.

LOL, you're up the creek without a paddle unless you buy some type of Converter that goes between the laptop and the tv. They both have to have the same type of connection or you will need a converter to make it look like they have the same.

Does your Laptop have a VGA Connection, does the tv have a VGA connection, if so use it. Otherwise you're going to need some type of converter that will convert the vga signal/connection out of your laptop to a HDMI connection that the tv has.

Try reseating the ram modules. If this dosn't work remove them one at a time but keep them in the same slot...do not switch slot, rebooting after each removal. If you remove one and it boots up then ram is bad for that slot. If this doesn't resolve your problem then repost with exactly how many beeps and in what sequence as they are diagbostic codes.

HI there i am sure your laptop is virus infected. I was faced the same problem. After that i format the OS & again install that. So i suggest you the same thing. Thanks.

Here is the Toshiba official line on that error.
If you've already run through their fixes, you could try using the Ultimate Boot CD to test the hard drive, or run Chkdsk c: /r from the recovery console to attempt to recover any bad sectors
Then consult this link and apply the pertinent fixes to attempt to repair the MBR.

Here is a very complicated solution, but you have to have a copy of the XP installation disk. Keep in mind that this is not a cure, only a fix, as this problem will continue to agrivate you, possibly even after you recover your original system.

I had the same problem and found that disconnecting the power lead and repositioning the ribbon cable from the on switch did the job after about 5 attempts

okay you have seen that message simply because it did not detected any hard-disk. If you know how to open your computer all you have to do is press all the wires in there it maybe dew to loose connection. then try booting it up again be sure it has a system already. If still didn't work out no other solution but to replace the hard disk.

These are known to have a grounding problem between the speakers and mainboard - They were actually sued and eventually settled to extend the warranty. unfortunately the special extenstion program ended a few months ago and toshiba no longer will fix this. The workaround is to add shielding to it.

If that doesnt fix the problem then you may have motherboard problems and at that point it would be best to part this laptop out and replace it.

seems the harddrive in your laptop has failed or is loose.

most likely you need to buy a new harddrive for your laptop.
