DVD not on device manager or my computere
try to reset your bios setup to factory defaults then check if your dvd drive detect at bios setup
if doesn't detect your dvd drive , try to uplug it to your laptop . check your manual for info. to disassemble it. if doesn't work..maybe the problem is your dvd defect.
need to replace.

If the CMOS battery was dead you would still get a display.with an error telling you about probable bios errors etc.
There are a couple of quick easy things you cane check first without opening it up.
Make sure you have not accidentally used the FN+F5 key
That combination sets the laptop to use an external display.
Try an external display
If using that does not give you a display take a small torch (flashlight if in USA) and shine it at an angle on the laptop screen.
If you can see any sort of picture you would be looking at replacement of some minor parts to the laptop screen

Cd rom does not work.
Check the driver in device manager. You would be looking for any icons with an X or a ? next to them. The driver probably isn't the issue, so I would search for the model number of your laptop plus "cd drive" on ebay. These are pretty cheap and are easily replaced. If that doesn't fixya, then there's possibly something wrong with the motherboard.

In case of your laptop the easiest method would be using software from Hiren's Boot CD as it's pretty hard to open it up and reach for the CMOS battery or the jumper.
