you are here because Toshiba's online help is gone. sure. they tell you there to go to tomshardware and as there. no PC stated at all model name and numbers.. what if kids set the password, playing with it. remove the battery from the PC, big one no AC pack. push power button for 3 times for 10 seconds each. wait,5min. hands off PC. now put the AC pack back. if the PW is still set, then next replace the coin cell battery inside. on some Toshiba (none stated) that battery is a rechargeable and if bad, very hard to fix. let the PC run on AC power only for 24hours in the hope that odd duck battery deep inside recharges, leave the big battery out for all tests, (until PC runs ok again on AC power) never post about a PC unless, the full model # and name is told example 1(random) Toshiba Satellite L455d-s5976

Sounds like your hard disk drive has died. Fit a new SSD (solid state drive) Did you make a boot disk / thumb drive like Toshiba recommends? After you fit the new SSD run the boot disk. No boot disk you will an O.S. to load onto you computer. To run the boot disk you have to get into setup, press F2 when the computer starts. Look for the boot disk options, if you are using Thumb Drive switch the boot option to USB. If you are using a CD switch the boot option to CD. Close the setup and reboot... The boot disk will set up the Operating System with the usual questions. Hope this helps Geoff

it's a TV not a computer , cant move you,. moving is dead. but it has more than once card inside, power card, the service manuals are very expensive, and are needed or all you can do is guess cards. both local buttons and remote fail, to turn it on the problem is inside the TV.

your CMOS battery should be located next to your Memory stick on your laptop. and it's a big round metal disk that looks like a watch battery. and the information you gave above is not correct. it should be something like M115-S904 or M115-S9044 for the Toshiba satellite. since you didn't provide all the information, I could not locate an Image for you to find it simply. good. luck.
