Freezes up when playing sound and makes clicking

is it coming from inside your hard drive you might have a dirty hard drive or it might be power trying to get a connection
first check all leads attached to your hard drive make sure connections are good and dust free IDE/SATA including electrical extensions any faulty lead can cause it to freeze
if this fails to fix the problem it might be a dirty hard drive the reader arm skipping across the platters on your hard drive
clean all dust from on and around your hard drive you could use a fine air blower from a comptessor or use a high pressure vacuum cl;eaner whatever you use make absolutely sure there is no moisture in the airlines
you might have to remove your hard drive to give it a firm tap on the side to free up the reader arm
remember where all leads go before removing it even take notes if you have memory troubles
if you need more help with this or if i have misunderstood the problem post a reply
hope this helps you

I recently had some virus

Sounds like you have the wrong driver for your sound card. What is the make and model of your laptop? Usually manufacturer's such as dell, gateway, etc have a site where you can get the drivers for your particular laptop. Another thing to try is to go to device manager (varying from win xp,vista, mac osx etc) to roll back the driver to an older version. If it is win vista/7 then you can uninstall from here and win7 will automatically install the driver for you.

What I suspect you are looking for is the audio drivers which make your installed sound card work properly. If that is the case, please provide us with the model of your sound card so that we may provide you a link.

have you tried this control panel sounds and audio, volume, advanced, speakers select the appropriate speakers from the drop down list or navigate to the device manager scroll to system devices + to expand, system speaker right click properties then select use this device (enable) also you might check the speakers plug/outlet is usually at the back of the computer you will have to open up the computer to check the lead attached to the rear of the input plug make sure the connection is good try cleaning your computer of dust using a fine air blower from a compressor making VERY sure that there is no MOISTURE in the air line specifically around the sound card and the CPU central processing unit dust causes static to build up in a computer hope this helps

Is it possible for the

It is possible, although unlikely if it was installed correctly. It would be much more likely in a desktop system, but I don't know what kind of computer you are using.
If you are using a desktop computer, opening the case to the system is usually simple and it wouldn't take more than a glance around the components to see if the card has fallen out.
A laptop would be a more difficult situation, but still do-able if you know what you are doing. I, myself, would not mess around with a laptop's interior, however.

No sound device on my

You should have on Board sound "Toshiba Bass Enhanced Sound System". You can check in Control Panel at the speaker icon or, if you have a speaker icon in your taskbar, lower right of your screen, right click on it. A window should come up and you should see "enable" or "disable" . If you see "enable" click on that, and exit. Right click on the icon again and left click on "open sound mixer" and adjust your volume.
