Coby DVD-209 Questions & Answers
I want to change region on my dvd Coby 209 -what do I do to achieve the goal ?
Thankfully you asked it new. fixya has changed since i was last here about 4 years ago and trying to figure out how to add the 2 new ways to my old post has been annoying. It appears they changed it so the old way only works on the older versions. Heres the new ones tht should work:1) Open DVD Tray 2) Press "MENU" 3) Press 8888 (you will find the modification interface) 4) Press "OSD" 5) Enter YOUR desire region code number 0-6. 6) Insert your Movie Disc. OR if above doesnt work try:1) Open Disc tray2) Enter: 9735 3)From the internal menu one of the items on the menu is region code. Click on it and change (zero is best then any disk will play) While entering 9735 you may see "INVALID KEY" on the TV, just ignore it and keep typing. Hope it helps :)

Cant unlock password
From the setup menu go to the far right where you can enter/change the password. The default password is 8888 . If you change it do not forget it as it can not be reset.

The unit won't turn on
We have exact same issue.
My husband called Coby.
They said if the red light is on & won't go green, the system is junk. Can return to the store or them.
We are off to buy a new player and it won't be a Coby!
