The standby light is supplied by standby 5vdc power supply, at this point it is the power supply problem and it should be the first suspect.

Basically it's a write-off! To get a new screen installed would cost more than a new TV!! Forget about it - buy a new one!

factory reset for the PS3.
turn the power off on the PS3 what I want you to do now is turn the power back on whilest holding the button down for approx 5 seconds this should then bleep. Thats it reset.

more than likely you T-con board is failing
you could be lucky ,and it could be just a bad
connection this board is located at the top center of your set the one connection im talking about is at the bottom make sure it s saeted tightly in the connnector careful that connector breaks really easy... if not then a tech is needed to replace the board

BE SURE THE SETTINGS IN THE TV MENU ARE CORRECT IF THEY ARE IT IS POSSIBLE YOUR BOARD NEED TO BE REPLACED

If you have tuned and nothing has happened..then it is a bad tuner module on the TV.

if you are using a cable box, connect it using the video out to one of your inputs on the TV.. This is not a fix but a work-around

if the tv is only a week old take it back to the store where you bought it for exchange or call LG for service under warranty. these units ( all LCD, Plasma and DLPs are essentualy a computer and have glitches). during mass manufacturing of these sets no matter the manufacturer problems will arise because of enviromental laws that prohibit the use of leaded solder. no lead solder takes higher heat to melt and different acids are used to clean the contacts. this posses problems to all manufacturing. the sets of yesteryear which lasted longer because of larger components and better soldering have gone by the wayside. don't lose faith in the manufacturer wave the figer at the enviromentalist that caused the problem.

It seems there could be some moisture damage to the remote reciever panel inside your tv or with the switch its self, without looking at it i couldnt give you exact reasons its best to have a word with your local tv repair man unless you are good with a soldering iron,
replacment of the reciver should cost you no more than 80 pounds any higher and shop around.
