Headphone jack issues
Although headphones jacks are convient. They are very delicate as well. It take very little pressure agaist the jack when plugged in to bend the pins inside the jack that makes the connection. Then they get temermental. Generally the only recourse is to replace the headphonejack in the unit. better left to the techs. replacing can be tricky. But just to make sure you say you have tried other units. Here is something that works once in a great while. Unplug the unit dip the headphone jack {the tip on the headphones} in rubbing alchol insert it in the jack on the unit and spin it repeat several times let alchol evaporate then stick jack back in unit an spin again. Plug unit back in and see if it is better or the same.
Crapy mp3 Player
Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard

Only 90 songs
90 songs = normal for a 1GB player. The # of songs that the companies list on their leaflets are never right - they are idealized projections based on ultra-compressed format and song length of only 2 minutes. Very unrealistic.
Trio problems
You must write/phone the company to get that address - it has to have a company-provided rma #, or your return will not be processed.
Trio mp3 lens
Unfortunately, the manufacturer does not sell replacement screens. you must replace the entire player.
Can't hear songs on my MP3
Are they .mp3's or .wma's? I haven't gotten .wma's to play, but .mp3's work fine.
You may also want to try creating a folder in the player that contains your music. Shouldn't matter, I know, but you know what that's worth.
Trio Mp# player... won't let me put any tunes on it...
IF you're using Windows 98 or 98SE, you have to use the driver software that came (should have come) on a disc with the player. ME, XP or Vista should automatically detect it as a flash drive when you connect it via USB.
However, I have had no luck in getting it to play .wma's like it's supposed to be able to. .mp3's, however, work just fine.
Wont turn on
i'm not sure what the problem is, but i have the exact same MP3 player and it does the same thing. It won't even say the welcome screen, it will just starting blinking the backlight with a blank screen until you pull the battery out. it is annoying, and one of the worst MP3 players i've had.
What should i do?
Connect it to your USB port and try a Firmware re-load. There should be a disc and instructions supplied with your player.
Things like unplugging the player during loading, battery failing etc, can cause a Firmware crash that can often only be resolved by re-loading.
How can i get it to play to the next song
Well, you can press the button you use to change songs. If you press it, you get options. Move the mode button and find play settings and you will find normal mode. Press the mode button and you will solve the problem.
