Olympus SP-350 Digital Camera - Answered Questions & Fixed issues
Olympus sp-550uz wont take photos
Okay so you're probably first thing I would do is make sure that the batteries and charging is good and the camera has power and enough power to operate the second thing I would focus on is the memory card they can wear out they can go bad and they can break I would try different memory card I'm also attaching the manual for that camera make sure you get a memory card that belongs with that camera even though they look the same they have different speed ratings on the card from 1 to 10 make sure you have the exact and proper memory card it's made for that camera or it will not work

Olympus SP-350 Digital Camera ZOOM ERROR
Hello
The problem is that the lens has become stuck in the barrel. There are some DIY solutions you could try, but the
probability is that you will have to get it fixed by a professional.
Use
these at own risk as it may further damage the camera.
Firstly ,
try connecting your ac adapter or usb cable.
Try holding the
shutter button while switching on the camera.
Look at the lens ,
and if some of the lens 'circles' is misaligned or not concentric then
try wiggling it (while holding camera lens down).
Try gently
pushing or pulling the lens when it extends but this is risky as it may
cause the lens barrel to slip out of its guidance system.
Another
way to do this is to place the camera lens down on a hard surface and
then power it up. Be sure to use a soft cloth or something similar as to
not scratch your lens or casing. Let the lens push the camera up and
down a few times and sometimes the little resistance provided by the
camera is enough to get things going again.
Try hitting your
camera near the lens on the body with the soft tissue on the palm of
your hand.
Other than that , I would take the camera to a repair
center for a evaluation to see if it would cost more to repair than to
replace the camera.
If it is still under warranty I would suggest
you take it in before trying any of these steps and remove any
off-brand batteries or accessories as some stores are really fussy about
warranty repairs on camera's with non-brand accessories.

Unable to transfer images
Try NOT connecting your camera to your computer. The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa (

SP-350 WON'T FOCUS
unfortunately it is repair issue.. the lens does go out on a track and may have got off track
Olympus SP-350 will not power on anymore. Battery
not sure - but seems like you have a power on issue, so try to check into the battery bay and see if there's any dirty stuff or leak from battery or just make sure the contact is clear.
Using a meter to double check to know that the batteries are BOTH charged is advised. The Buzzing noise seem to indicate the motor is having problem extending the lens or the motor's gear is stripping hence making the noise?
Hi, I droped my SP-320
I have the same problem with flashing red and green light when I tried to turn on my Olympus SP-350.
I don't know what's wrong, so please let me know if you have any clue. I personally did not drop the cam, but someone else might and did not tell me :(
Completly smashed screen, still works
The damaged LCD screen could have finally faulted the circuit and so there are errors in the main processor section of the camera.
Disconect the damaged screen and try if the camera resets.

In side flash not working
Unless your camera remains under warranty, repairing the flash is usually not cost-effective. Repair is not a DIY option and it must be done professionally. If you visit the Olympus website in your country and go to the service page you will often find that there is a fixed price repair menu on offer.
You may find it's cheaper to fit an external flash to the external hotshoe especially if you can buy a good used flash, but you must ensure that you either use an Olympus or Panasonic model; you may use other independent makes such as SunPak or Metz (expensive, but really worth it) but must ensure that they're suitable for digital cameras. Older flashguns designed for 35mm film cameras can pass too much voltage through your digital camera and damage it. You may also need to activate the external flash hotshoe via the menu as on most cameras it's inactive until selected. Note that an Olympus/Panasonic badged unit will give you full automatic operation, but if you use independent models then you will have to set everything yourself for "non-dedicated" models, and on more expensive "dedicated" models you may have fully automatic operation or may have to enter some settings manually. "Dedicated" flashes are those which have electronics and features tailored to particular camera brands.
Although an external flash is bulkier, the trade-off is that even lowly specified models will far exceed the output of your built-in flash. This enables you to use flash at greater distances and also provides more even illumination of the subject.

Trying to transfer images from camera to computer,
Base from the description of your problem the issue here can be with the establishment of the data transfer between the camera and the computer.
What we do here is to power off the camera then connect it on a different USB port if your computer is a desktop connect the camera on the back USB port, power on the camera.
Restart the computer while the camera is connected to it , then check now if the file transfer is already working.
