Can someone please tell me what error E20 means and how to fix it? It comes up within 10 minutes of the wash cycle. I removed all the clothes from the machine and pressed start. It tries to drain water and will not go past this cycle. If I set the washer to spin only it will drain and spin in that setting, but not when washing. Thanks in advance for any help.

holla, Im not showing a E20 code on the tech sheet. There is a E21. Water not draining fast enough. Try holding the start/pause and cancel key together for 3 seconds. The door lock, wash, rinse and final spin leds should light. Any error codes should be displayed when holding those keys. If you see a different error code, post it. If not, I would suspect a clogged pump...Catriver.

I wash doing was and the machine first gave me the error code of E20 and their was water in the bottom of the basin. We cleaned out the water lines but still could not get the washer to start. It just sounds like the gears or something is not catching to spin the washer. I unplugged the washer and then try to start it again but this time I got the error code of E41. Can any one help with this?

If your machine is stuck on the drain sequence or you read error code E20, the filter basket is probably clogged:
You will need a pair of slip-joint pliers and a Phillips head screwdriver.
Before beginning any work, make sure to unplug the machine from the electrical outlet.
**Note: It may be easier to perform this task with the washer lying on its side; therefore it may be necessary to disconnect the water lines from the machine.
1: Take off the front kick plate (two screws at the bottom of the machine).
3: There is a black accordion hose with two clamps.
2: Have a towel ready to catch the water that leaks.
4: Remove the clamps at each end to access the filter basket.
5: Stick your hand inside the hose and remove the plastic filter basket (it will probably be clogged with hair, lint, fabric).
6: Thoroughly clean the filter basket and remove all debris from the inside of the black accordion hose.
7: Replace the filter basket.
8: Reattach the black accordion hose at both ends.
9: Secure the clamps at each end of the hose.
10: Wipe up any water that may have spilled inside the machine.
11: Reattach the front kick plate with the two screws removed earlier.
12: Reconnect all hoses before plugging in the machine to the electrical outlet.
** This took me about 30 minutes from start to finish.

My washer will fill with water, it will spin both ways during the wash cycle but when it goes to the spin cycle you can hear the machine draining the water but it does not spin. It will then go onto the rinse cycle where it will again spin both ways and then you can hear it start to drain and go into the final spin cycle but the machine does not spin for it. Help PLEASE!

IT IS THE DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY, COST AROUND $50.00 WHICH IS FAR BETTER THAN $300.00, WHAT A SERVICE REPAIR PERSON WILL CHARGE YOU. YEA IT'S THE CRAZIEST THING IMAGINABLE, THE DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY BEING THE CAUSE FOR IT TO NOT SPIN ALL THE WATER OUT. I FIXED MINE MYSELF, HAD TO TAKE IT ALL APART VERY CAREFULLY, BUT I SAVED MYSELF $250.00. YOU CAN GET THE PART ONLINE OR GO TO NEAREST APPLIANCE PARTS STORE IN YOUR CITY. ASK FOR DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY. THEY WILL KNOW EXACTLY WHAT YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT BECAUSE IT IS A VERY COMMON, I REPEAT VERY COMMON PROBLEM WITH THIS BRAND OF WASHING MACHINE.

My washing machine is stuck on pause mode. When I push any button or turn the wash cycle knob I get beeps and an error message that flashes PAU & ERR. I have tried all the solutions listed on this site. I have also tried every conceivable combination of buttons to unlock the control panel, unplugged the machine overnight and checked the connections on the door to make sure they are catching properly - all to no avail. Please help!

I fixed this myself and it only took about 5 minutes. The problem is the door latch needs to be reset, which requires unplugging it's three electrical connections. This has to be done inside the washer outer seal, but it is easy to get to. First remove the outer ring that holds the seal on. Next remove only the side of the seal closest to the door latch (again only the outer seal needs to be undone). With this done remove the two screws holding the door latch in place (inside). Remove the latch, unplug the three connectors, plug them back in then reassemble everything. When all is back in place hit "cancel" and it should be good to go.

We do not pack the clothes into the washer and we have set the spin cycle from high to low and yet our clothes are being ripped inside of the washer. They come out with the rubber on the clothes as if the rubber was burned onto the clothes with the holes being in the same area. I know someone else with the same washer having the same problem. My warranty is expired! What could it be?

Frigidaire washer sucks. I'm tired of this useless machine ripping my clothes. You need to change your bellows(boot) kits around the door on front load. I have changed this kit twice now and each time, I spent $200 in repair fees. I wished I never bought this washer. Will never recommend to anyone i know.

My front loading Fridgidaire washer is making a loud clunking noise and it vibrates during the final spin cycle. I know that this might be a brearing problem, so I want help and advice in getting to the bearing to replace it and about how much would it cost. This washer is only 6 years old how come I am having problems with it already
Posted by trini1 on
For all those who say they recently bought the machine, the cause of the machine "walking across the floor" and vibrating violently is the packaging bolts on the back of the machine that were supposed to be removed when the machine was installed (why it says remove packaging bolts in the installation manual). These packaging bolts hold the suspension steady and firm during shipping but MUST be removed before operating the machine. When these packaging bolts (I think there are four total, some up to 6 inches long penetrate the rear of the machine) are removed, they allow the suspesion to absorb the vibration.

I want to test and service a washer but have no water hook up available. Is it OK to run the washer for short periods to test the different cycles without water in the machine or even connected?
Posted by 943210 on
All you can test without water, is the spin and pump functions..
The heater and the wash action will not work without the correct amount of water in the washer.
Hope this helps.
Plz rate my solution.

I own a Frigidaire Front Load washer, Model # LTF2140ES3. I have owned it for less than two years now. I have the same problem so many do with the rubber ring (that keeps the water from leaking during the wash cycle) retaining water after the cycle is finished, leading to mold and mildew growth. I have taken some of the advice I found on this site, and use bleach and other cleaning agents periodically to help reduce that awful stench it leaves on my clothing. However, this seems pitifully inadequate, and quite the pain in the rear. I have four young boys, and do laundry constantly, and the occasional cleaning with bleach just doesn't keep up. Before I know it, I get loads out of the dryer that reek (you can't always tell until AFTER you dry them, then you can smell the stench once it starts heating up---terrible!)
Aside from having any remedy from the company itself (has anyone had any success with that??) I am looking at other options to make the washer I have work better. What would you say to this: Suppose I drilled small holes in the bottom of the rubber ring, in various places, similar to the ones that are already there, to allow for the remaining water to drain properly. Obviously it would "damage" the seal where I drill the holes, but would it cause any damage to any other parts of the machine? I assume that since it already has existing holes and appears to be one piece, it would be all right to drill more and allow it to drain back into the tub or wherever the other holes drain into.
But you know where assuming gets you..............
Do you see any contraindication do trying this?? Or maybe you have a better suggestion? The periodic cleaning isn't working, and I DO keep the door open. I am quickly becoming frustrated enough to consider spending more hard-earned money on a new washer that doesn't leave my clothes smelling like the dog wore them all day...................

We've had our Frigidaire front load washer for 6 years now, and
until about 2 months ago, it smelled absolutely horrible. I tried the
things I was told to do....hot water/bleach cycle, wiping the slime from
the rubber seal, and leaving the door open....it didn't work.
I was told about Norwex laundry detergent - Norwex is a company which produces green cleaning products - the detergent is a quickly biodegradable, highly concentrated powder, and all I need is a 1/4 - 1/2 teaspoon per load. After about one week of using the Norwex detergentI noticed that the smell was completely gone and hasn't returned, even with the door kept close in between loads! Also, the gross slime that used to collect in the rubber seal is no longer a problem.
I don't know why this detergent fixes the smell problem, but I've talked with others who have had the same great results with it - their smell issue was solved.Perhaps it's because it contains no animal fat products? The HE liquid detergent produced the worst smell and mildew issues for me.
Another benefit of the Norwex detergent is how economical it is - it comes in a2kg bag for about $25, and in a front load machine you will get approx.800 loads from it using the above mentioned quantity/load which is great as I have 4 little ones and am constantly doing laundry. It's really an amazing product! You can buy it online - www.Norwex-Healthy-Cleaning.com is a great site to buy from.
