All the panel lights glow after I reset (heated dry, normal, etc)?

Not sure what you mean by a temp restart only time lights should all be lit is if you placed the unit into diagnostic. Lets go one of two ways if you hit the normal wash button it lights along with heated dry you hit start button it flashes and won't go solid you have an open door switch, if everything is off and start light continues to flash you have a stuck key on the keypad.

Water Inlet Valve

The dishwasher has an electrical water valve called a water inlet valve. If the dishwasher won't fill with water, the water inlet valve might be defective. These valves are not repairable and will have to be replaced. Enter your model number to see parts for your dishwasher. Help me find my model number

Float

The float assembly is normally inside the dishwasher near the door on the floor of the dishwasher. If something gets stuck underneath it and holds the float assembly up, the dishwasher won't fill with water. If the float assembly moves freely up and down, the float switch might be defective. Enter your model number to see parts for your dishwasher. Help me find my model number

Float Switch

The float switch is actuated by the float assembly. It is a protection device designed to prevent the dishwasher from overfilling. If the dishwasher won't fill with water, it may be because this float switch is defective or stuck. Enter your model number to see parts for your dishwasher. Help me find my model number

Water Supply Problem

The dishwasher is connected to the hot water supply from the house. Check to be sure the household water supply valve is turned on. Over time, calcium deposits can build up in the water supply valve or in the small filter screen inside the water inlet valve. The water supply line may need to be removed from the water inlet valve of the dishwasher, then run some water into a bucket to see if there is enough pressure. Be certain to turn off the water before working on the water line.

Nothing will start and no lights are on and water

Hello, welcome to FixYa.

I understand by reading your post which indicates it is a Whirlpool
dishwasher model #DU1055XTPS you appear to have a concern with no lights/power to the control, correct ?

The one thing I'd suggest is the thermal fuse, typically the symptom you've described is associated with a bad thermal fuse. (part #
W10258275).

Here's a helpful link below to a video from "repairclinic.com" to assist in changing (or simply checking it as shown in the second link) the fuse kit...it generalizes on most Whirlpool built dishwasher's such as yours, but if slightly different it is essentially the same.

I'll watch for your reply and try and help going forward. Hopefully this will provide you with the solution you seek, but please keep me posted if not.

...If so, please take a moment to rate the assistance provided for you here today. Good luck and thank you for choosing FixYa.

Only cancel/drain button works, none of the other

Hello, click this link http://c.searspartsdirect.com/lis_png/PLDM/P0704152-00002.png part number 6 is a thermal fuse located inside the control area you would first test this part with a multimeter by performing a continuity test on the fuse. If it showed no continuity then you would replace the fuse. If the fuse checks out having continuity then you would check part 12 which is a switch there is one located on each side and can also be tested by performing a continuity test or ohming out the switch make sure the power is off to the unit before performing this. If you have any further questions message me back and if you find that both parts test as good message me back as well for further diagnosis. Thanks

My dishwasher don't start at

It is possible that the machine does not start off the cycle because there are errors or feedback from the inputs. For the program to start up the main program controller must initiate the INLET/PUMP MOTOR/DRAIN to work when it is commanded .If this does not happen then the voltage at these points must be checked or the fault relates to no voltage/drive from the controller. This means the controller is a suspect.

If the water flows then the flow should be good, if not the inlet valve is bad or there is dirt in the filter. Also check the flow at the inlet of the water line. What is most important for the motor to start functioning is that the door switch must be ON when the door is shut or this will be an error for starting the motor. The water pressure must be good and the spraying must be seen to be good. If there is low pumping or pressure then the spray arms will not turn around to inject with pressure. If so the pump must be checked for clogging.

Finally after the wash the drain valve will be activated, the water is allowed to come in to rinse and then finally the drain valve/pump activated so as to drain off all the water.

Make sure that a fault in any of the cycle will relate to the specified action, so check the command from the program module and then the executing device be it the valve or motor or pump.

Dishwasher did not complete last

Hello, welcome to FixYa.

Based on your description and the model being a Whirlpool DU1055XTPS there is indeed an internal "fuse" or as Whirlpool refers to it, "thermal fuse" or "bimetal". I'd suggest you likely have a faulty thermal fuse in the control board, but it is not resettable unfortunately.

It's pretty easy to replace or to check, I've attached a link below to change the fuse, but you can also use the link to access the thermal fuse to check it.

With the aid of an ohm meter, (**and the electricity off...safety first**) remove one wire and measure across the two contacts and it should show continuity, otherwise it's open and therefore no good.

The part is available at most brick & mortar part places or on-line at vendors such as "repairclinic.com" or searspartsdirect.com" to name a couple. Part number 8193762...looks like this image and retails for about $15-$20USD based on the model you provided.

How to check the heater

Hello, welcome to FixYa.

If you check voltage to the heater you should find 120vac. This can be done with an ammeter as well for amperage draw placed on L1 in the junction box at the bottom of the dishwasher...you need only to remove the lower toe panel/kick plate.

If the heater is drawing amperage it is obviously O.K. The quickest and most effective way to do this is starting a diagnostic cycle. (I should mention if the heating circuit was open the "clean" light on the control panel would flash until resolved)

To do so is (should be) as follows...

HEATED DRY - NORMAL, HEATED DRY - NORMAL, HEATED DRY - NORMAL
This diagnostic cycle may take approx. 15-20 minutes to complete, if you let it proceed through to completion or you can push "cancel" after checking amperage for the heater...unless the heater itself is at fault or a wire has vibrated loose from the heater...those are steps to follow.

Let me know how you make out, please keep me informed if you need further assistance or anything is unclear. Please take a moment to rate me assistance and a short testimony is appreciated as well.

Thank you for choosing FixYa and good luck.

Dishwasher does not start with one button push,

Hi,

Thank you for contacting fixya.com.

The timer motor regulates the length of time power is routed to each component. If the timer motor does not function properly, it can result in a wide range of problems. Common symptoms include sticking in a cycle, cycle times running too long, or failure of the dishwasher to start at all.Guess you need to replace the timer motor. Also check the heating elements. The heating element is used to heat the water and/or dry the dishes. If it does not function properly it can result in unsatisfactory cleansing of the dishes or the failure of a cycle to complete properly.

Also check this very informative link to troubleshoot your problem related to your dishwasher:-

My dishwasher's clean light will

Your dishwasher will do this as a safety in case the element is broken and feeding electrical current into the water. Sometimes just a false reading.

Reset your console by pressing: high temp wash, heated dry, high temp wash, heated dry

When all the lights are on you are set in diagnostic mode. Just hit cancel a you will be able to run your dishwasher as normal.
If this same light appears again then you have a bad element or thermostat.
