Bose 3 2 1 GSX System - Page 9 Questions & Answers
Something is shorting out when I plug in the power
Probably worth fixing. Likely a component shorted and blew a circuit trace. Competent tech can carve out the cancer, clean it up, replace the bad part and blown traces with jumpers to repair the unit.
Dvd's play with a distinct green tint
Check the component cable from the Bose to the TV, and confirm the output setting on the Bose. If it switched to "S" video it will look green. If your cable is good and your settings are correct, switch from component to standard video and check the picture. Chances are good that it's a setting. Hope this helps. If you still have a problem, post a comment and I will help you some more
When trying to play a CD it keeps saying format
Are you trying to plat a CD-R or CD-R/W?
If you are make sure the gsx can support the format of course...
the next most common problem is the CD was not finalized.
the table of contents is written to the disc when you close or finalize the disc... if it is not finalized it usually can only be played on the computer it was burned on. and sometimes other computers depending on their configuration.
In any case you probably need to finalize the CD
My bose system says bad disc 80 percent of the
Either the Hard Drive is corrupt or it needs to be replaced or wiped cleaned and have fresh os installed on the pc. You could always try and download and run Eusing free registry cleaner and hopefully it will clear up all your system errors. That's what it is made to do.
Bose 3-2-1 Remote Control stopped working
I purchased a LAZBOY universal remote (at Fred Meyers, on sale for $9.99) and after a bunch of research and trial-&-error, was able
program it with a code (1629) which works reasonably well with the
Bose 3-2-1.
I don't have all the system-level functions (which I never utilized anyway) but do have all the basics as far as power, volume, source, and CD/DVD control.
CD/DVD skipping and doesn't play; has nearly
Why then didn't you take it to the dealer during the warranty period?
There's not much a user can do on one of these beasts. Repair takes manuals and specialized equipment. The only thing that you might do, if you have the tools and skills to remove the cover, is to check the lens of the laser assembly for dirt and carefully clean it with a cotton swab - a low signal strength here can cause mistracking. Otherwise, this is a job for a qualified technician.
When changing the volumn either
dis connect all the external wires connected to the unit.also remove the main power cord from power outlet for a minute then wait for two minutes and check out by connecting every thing as it was.also if still the same problem then it Can be the fault in remote as when you press the volume up or down button the mute option is getting applied /just check out with any other spare remote and confirm the fault.

Can i clean my bose321 dvd player
Yes. They have disk drive cleaners you can use, but be careful you don't go too cheap. You should be able to pick one up for about $10-$20.
Bose 321 Series III Lateness
This depends on the source. If this happens internally (from a DVD in the 321) then the problem should be able to be resolved by just resetting the 321. (unplug the power cord from the sub for 30+ seconds)
-If this is from external sources like a cable box, believe it or not, you can reset the cable box the exact same way. If resets don't fix this (and this is external) then check the cable box's settings for a/v delay compensation.
Bose 3-2-1 - trouble connecting to Samsung 26" LCD monitor
Sounds like you might be out of luck with the older 3-2-1 system. I am in the same boat, and am thinking I will only be able to utilize the "audio out" on the back of my Samsung LCD, and run that to the "aux in" on the Bose 3-2-1. This of course will not allow me to utilize the 3-2-1's DVD player, but by using a seperate DVD player, such as a Blu-Ray hooked to the LDC TV, the video will make it to the screen, and then the audio should make it through the Bose 3-2-1 speakers. Probably not the "best" solution, but one that I am going to attempt.
I have a friend with a 321 system. He says it
Unfortunatley no, its not software that reads dual layer discs, its hardware. I sold Bose for 2 years and do not know of any Bose items that will read dual-alyer discs. Dr. Bose has a hard time keeping up with technology sometimes. Other than that, the 321 is a great system!
On some dvds only some of the sound track is
on the 5.1 mode, 5 speakers are needed to hear everything. You can usually go in the sound setup menu of the dvd and chooses 2.1 english version. Also, on some receiver, they can be set at 5.1 and actually all of the 5 speakers might not be actually hookup. You can change the ''surround'' mode of the receiver to stereo...
I have a Bose 321, 5 years old. It has started
BOSE offered a software upgrade to address the issue of freezing and not playing certain disks. You can get that right from BOSE by calling tech support. I am not sure that that will help with the newest symptom though (the humming).
Our Bose 321 Entertainment System is only playing
Be sure that in the setup menu, you are selected for the correct output format (either component which is BLUE/RED/GREEN + audio or composit which is just YELLOW + audio. If that is correct, I would suggest a call to the BOSE technical support center.
