Those blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. Count it carefully. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. check kill switch on the lamp cover door it should be firmly pressed by the lamp door

The image settings has changed it may be in sepia.. Just change it in camera setting or image setting into auto or normal ,,

Short on the power and deflection boards---with set unplugged take a careful look inside for burnt or blackened parts etc.

some hardware issue is there

If you unplug the set and look with the back cover removed you will find 3 large black round lens inside---light source (red,green,blue) for your picture--clean them with a lens cloth or a paper towel with glass cleaner sprayed on the towel.Should be done about 1 time a year.

If model number is correct the akai is a samsung; from the rear with the cover removed are three rather large black lens (one for each picture tube) that point upwards.If the set has not been serviced for a long time clean the lens with a lens cloth or a paper towel with glass cleaner sprayed on it.These are the light source for your picture and if dusty the picture will be darker and dull looking.SD TECH

There could be many items that can cause that symptom. However I always assume convergence on any rear projection which can easily be checked by unplugging the convergence amp board and then plugging in the set and press power , if the set powers up turn it back off, and you will know the convergence ICs and associated resistors on that board have failed. Although its easier to replace the board unless you have good soldering skills. I am pasting a pic of the board which is suspended above the main chassis just mark the wires then unplug the set from the wall first, but then unplug the wires from that board and then try powering up the set.if you need further assistance , respond to this same post

Yes - that is one of the possible symptoms. TV will shut down with no audio or video. You can call in a repair shop or you can get the parts and instructions from www.TvRepairKits.com and do the repair yourself. Its a fairly easy DIY fix.

The sound of it sounds like a power board transformer that went out on you, Looking up that part lands you about $95 bucks labor about $200 depending.

So its all up to you on where you want to take it.

I did also mention trying to sale it for parts to help you sustain for a newer set.

If ur tv is a HDTV.HD tv signal u don't turn it on u have it or not.Check ur tv imcomming broadcasting signal like 1080i or 1080p.u can get that signal,if ur tv in HD broadcasting.

It is a good possibility that the convergence IC's need replace, that is very common on that model.

It looks like your set is getting long in the tooth, so to speak. However there may be hope. There is a kit available that you can purchase online that contains all the parts necessary to repair the set.
Read through this carefully, so that you know what you will be required to do. It looks good.
