Elo 1515L touch monitor. How
Hello,
These are a major pain to open. The case halves are held together by tabs and notches all around the perimeter of the case. They are very hard to get open without scuffing the case up a bit. The easiest way to do it is with 2 small flat blade screwdrivers. You will need to insert the first one between the two halves by pressing very hard to even gently tapping the screwdriver with a small hammer. Once one is inserted you will use the other one to work around the case and pop the other tabs loose. It will take some patients to open these, they are not really designed for user serviceability. It sounds like you are having issues with the unit. The most common problem with these units is the capacitors in the power supply causing the units to not power up. Look for bulging tops, if you find any then its best to replace them all since the case is so hard to get back into. We repair these units in our service department all the time. Here is a link to our web page talking about capacitors

Hello,
The USB port is soldered to the driver board in the monitor. If it is loose then either the jack is broken and will need to be replaced or the jack is pulled from the solder on the board and will need to be resoldered. Hopefully the board was not damaged. The ELO monitors are a pain to open the case on and you will need to know how to solder to replace the jack. If you don't normally do electronics repair then in this case it would be best to find a repair technician than can do the work for you. As long as the board itself is not damaged then this type repair should not run over about $50 (parts and labor) plus shipping. Here is a link to a service site that can do the work for you.

The Elo ET1527L Monitor has stereo speakers. Within the OSD (On Screen Display) you can control several properties of the monitor like; brightness, contrast, positioning, color, and SOUND. See the buttons on the right side.
I recommend setting the sound to 100%. The speakers are small and weak. They are pointed to the rear, I assume for customers to hear.
The buttons do have a lock-out feature too. If they don't respond, while on, hold down the top two buttons and the screen should display Lock / Unlock. Wait until you see the one you want and then release. The power button lock out works the same way, holding top and 3rd button to lock/unlock.
The device drivers give you an option to use internal (monitor beeps) and external (PC port) sound sources.

Have you actually purchased Visio, or are you just trying to get it for free?
As a software guy, I would have to advise against piracy. :)
There are several ways to get Visio for cheap. If you are a student, there are discounted versions available online and in stores. Also, you can check with your school for even cheaper options sometimes. Try the university bookstore if available. Or a Computer Science department maybe.
If you are working, and your company uses MS Office applications, find out if they have the "Microsoft at Home" program. You can get MS Office applications for really cheap that way. I can get Visio through my company's "Microsoft at Home" program for a few dollars.
My Employer Says They Are Going To Cut My Wages. Can They?
If you are in the middle of a contract, then cutting your wages is almost certainly a violation of your employment law rights. While I am by no means an expert on this matter, I did have a similar issue years ago - mid-contract wage cuts - and I hired an
employment attorney to fight the case on my behalf. It turned out that my employer was basically looking to scare people into taking the wage cut.
They got into some pretty serious legal trouble for their transgression, and nothing happened to me in terms of wage cuts after that. If you are between contracts, your employer can re-negotiate your salary, but as far as I am aware, if you are in an agreed-upon contract, they cannot just decide to reduce your salary. If you want to settle matters, contest this action with support from a legal professional.
