It sounds like you may have the load impedance too low.

Let me know if you need me to clarify anything.

to make sure its not the amp unplug the subs and just have the amp connected and if the prection light continues to come on then your amp is probably blown/fried but if it goes off then check the Ohm level on the amp then match the way the subwoofers are wired and wire them to match the ohm on the amp.....this site will help....http://www.crutchfield.com/S-ApB0sVuYqNs/learn/learningcenter/car/subwoofers_wiring.html
Can kicker 1000x1 amp detect if my speaker is bad
The Kicker 1000x1 Amplifier does not turn off if their is an Open Line (blown sub) on the Speaker Terminals.
- Remove all Speaker Wiring from the Amplifier, leaving the Power, Ground, Remote, and RCA wires plugged in.
- If the Amplifier fails to turn on, check your Remote wire for power.
- If the Remote wire is powering up with the Head Unit (should be anywhere from 5-12 Volts), check your Power wire for +12 Volts, and check your Ground wire.
- If you are getting +12 Volts Power and your Remote wire is putting out 5-12 Volts but your Amplifier still won't turn on, it will need to be serviced.

My protection light keeps turning on.
i'm almost positive that your amp is overheating. i would either buy another one or bring it in to the geek squad. but i'm 99.9% sure it's overheating
I need to connect my remote wire to a accessory
The accessory wire that you are looking for is the one that tells the head unit to turn on when you turn the key in car. If you have an aftermarket deck then the deck has it's own for the amp usually it is blue and in your case may not be connected to anything. If you don't have an aftermarket deck you will need to find a wiring diagram for the car radio harrness and it will be labeled. You dont want to use any random wire because if that wire always has power your amp will stay on and kill battery. You can wire a switch if you choose this method to prevent that from happening. You may also try running a wire from main power of amp to a small fuse (remote uses less than 2A) then to a switch and then back to remote screw of amp.
This website has wiring diagrams but colors dont always match. http://www.the12volt.com/ Good Luck
