Why doesn't the start button work?

If you are having problems with your gas dryer not heatingthe most common problem is that the ignitor goes bad. Even though it glowssometimes it is still not working properly.

Clothes get caught between drum
Hi pmccabe513...
Your problem with the clothes getting caught between the drum and body is caused by too much wear on your felt seal between the drum and body of the dryer...replace your felt seal and that should solve that problem.
The heating problem:
Check to make sure you heating problem is not a lint build up in the discharge hose or the dryer.
The problem could also be a large lint ball build up in the center of the fan or a sock,thin pants,a pen,etc. that has gotten into the fan by falling down the hole where the lint screen is normally inserted.

The issue seems to be with a bad/worn out belt assembly that
should be replaced. You have to completely take it apart to replace it. Hope
