Freezer getting cold but not freezing food
Hi,
..I'm not certain here but there are a couple of things we can look at and diagnose. First, be sure that your doors close tightly. If the gaskets leak, this will allow humidity in...that's where ice comes from. If you 'windowshop', this will also cause icing. Now...let's start with a full defrost. This can take about two days with the unit open and off. Once accomplished, the next thing to do is look at the unit itself. First, underneath, is the condenser coil clean? If not, do that. Now, from the back, remove the felt panel covering the lower portion. The big thing is the compressor. If the unit has been off for more than 20 minutes, clean the big pipe off. Now, start the unit. It should develop frost on the pipe which should either freeze up or dry out after 5 minutes or so. Caution: there is a fan in there! If still frosty, you're low on gas and the unit probably has a small leak. The icemaker can be looked at by removing it. It contains a float. If the float is damaged or jammed, it will not shut off...and will overfill the icemaker. Good luck.

He370TC hoover fridge. Light
Hi
To check your compressor you need to perform some test…here is a link to have a vivid idea to your query…
http://www.applianceaid.com/refrigerator.html#clicking
Try defrosting the freezer section completely and then retesting setting the thermostat to its middle setting.
If your refrigerator is a frost free type, you may want to check the freezer to ensure it isn't over loaded with food stuff, reason being air must flow freely threw out the entire refrigerator in order for the thermostat to work correctly. You should also check the coils on the rear of the refrigerator and make sure they are clean and dust free. If you still have problems after trying the above; you may need to call a repair
Also make sure the doors close properly.
Let us know if you have something more to know else accept the suggestion.

FREEZER GETS FROSTS UP TOO MUCH,WHAT TO DO
If the freezer is getting a lot of frost on the back wall you have a defrost problem going on. This will be 1 of 3 things. The defrost timer, the defrost t-stat which is attached to the evaporator coils, or the defrost heater. To remove all ice from coils you will need to remove inside back panel of freezer and gain access to the coils. Then using a hair dryer you will need to melt all ice off of the coils. Usually the problem is the defrost t-stat. a round disc like item with 2 wires going to it attached to the evaporator coils. Good luck and thanks, Rick

Fridge is freezing food
I have had the same issue with thick frost/ice at the back of my Fridge and almost called an engineer and considered replacing it.. BUT you don't want to so that: Do this:
1. Take freezer draws out and empty fridge so it is lighter and easier to move Fridge Freezer out
2. Chuck some warm soapy water down the drainage hole in back of fridge to ensure it is not blocked
3. Pull the plug. Leave it off for 5-10 mins.
4. Plug it in, reload her
5. Next morning.. perfect all back to normal
I think the unplugging just resets the thermostat and gets your machine back to life.

The upside down fridge freezer has started leaking
Your evaporator coils frost up in normal use
and every eight hours or so the entire unit shuts down and the defrost heater
comes on to melt the frost. This cycle last about 20 minutes. The melted frost
drips into a drain pan and through a drain tube to the drain tray under the
freezer/refrigerator where it's evaporated by the condenser fan.
Your drain tube may be stopped up with ice at the upper end
because it drains too slow because it's stopped up at the lower end in the
evaporator pan under the unit at the floor. It can get dust and mold in it.
Once you get the ice out at the top a little pressure with a turkey baster will usually clear it out. Flushing
it out with hot water and clorox may help.
Make sure it drains quick enough
to prevent refreezing. . The drain should be located below the evaporator coils
on the lower back of the freezer
