Brother NX-400 Questions & Answers
What is err code F04
It most likely is your foot pedal. Unplug your
foot pedal and start the machine without it. If it works properly
without the foot pedal plugged in then your foot pedal needs repaired or
replaced. This worked for us with the NX400 machine and I am sure the
NX450 is closely similar. Don't bother to buy a Manual if you didn't
already get one with the machine. A Service manual and parts manual is
best; But just so you know they don't show the error codes unless you
are a qualified and authorized repair person for the machines. I got my
info from the repair man where my wife buys and repairs her machines. I
am an electronic technician and mechanic so I understand how this system
works. I will be repairing my wife's machines from now on.
Manual for PennCrest P1
Nancy, if you ever give up on your machine, would you consider parting with the cord and foot pedal assembly? - I just picked up a cute machine at a thrift store. Looks like the previous owner's puppy chewed on the plug. It still works, but for how long or how safely is the question. Thank you!
Balance wheel is totally jammed
machine was working fine when suddenly it just jammed up. Everything seems to be fine, but the balance wheel is completely jammed rigid. I've looked at the shuttle and there are no thread jams at all. The needle moves fine from side to side with different stitch selections, but wont go up and down with the wheel.
I have tried looking in the machine, but I can't find any thread jammed.
I dropped the dog foot
Hi,the first time I lowered mine the same thing happened. The machine was due for a service so I explained the problem. The engineer explained with a grin -- the come up automatically when you have switched over and start sewing again ---blush !
Tension manual thread
You sound like a very experienced seamstress. Are you inquiring about a serger or a sewing machine. Work with one tension at a time. Is it the upper thread that is loose when sewing on a sewing machine. The bobbin controls the upper thread and visa versa. Set the tension dial on the sewing machine to zero and work from there slowly. Perhaps the tension discs are not controlling the thread any longer. I hope this helps. Kate
