This is usually caused by an oxidized or defective Audio/Video drum. You can try running a cleaning tape through the camera. If this does not solve the problem the camera will need to be serviced by a qualified service technician.

How can i change the
My research shows that model is only for sale only in Asia, I looked into some similar USA released models and they did NOT have multiple language support so I am thinking that the DCR-TRV9 is only in Japanese.
Just out of curiosity are the markings on the camera body in English or in Japanese?
Screen is not working
Hi,
It is a posible issue with the hardware the LCD or the power connector of LCD to the body. Another thing there might be a short circuit inside.
You can perform this T/S:
1. remove all accesories connected including battery.
2. press the power button or switch to on for 1 minute to release all the electrical current inside.
3. turn on the camera check if it will work.
If the problem persist then it is a hardware issue and LCD needs to be replaced.

The best thing you can do now is to take it to a specialist and get them to do the repairs. Camcorders have a lot of electronics in them and can be easily damaged if your a not an experienced repairer. You might also have to consider that this camcorder might not be repairable.

TRV260 nail-polish head attack:
eek.
Acetone is a powerful solvent capable of dissolving plastic parts, plastic gears, housing and insulation.
Besides that, it leaves a residue of microscopic crystals which have probably contaminated the highly-polished metal head drum.
Not to mention gumming up the bushes and bearings.
With your next camera, rather use a head-cleaner DV-tape.
Sony dcr-hc62 won't record
Memory stick could be fubar. I have a bad sd card that I can record to and will work. Then a few days later the data is corrupted, and I have to reinstall it / same pattern. Try another stick to verify that it is the stick and not the camera electronics.
