Step 1 Look at the camcorder's display to identify if it is in Safeguard Mode. If its display indicates an error number of E01 to E06, your camcorder is in Safeguard Mode. Hi The GR-DVL305 should have come with a composite AV cable (a 3.5mm jack to 3 RCA plugs). On the VCR you would need a composite input or possibly a scart input. If you have a scart input you would need a convertor from RCA to Scart (available from Amazon etc.). If you want to connect the camcorder to the Mac it would depend on what Mac. Your Mac may have a FireWire input. If so you can but a firewire cable to connect the JVC to the Mac, but and it's a big but (!) Firewire is not a plug and play system like USB. You will also need software on the Mac that can take the analogue signal from the camcorder and convert it to digital. Hope that helps.
