JVC GR-SXM265 S-VHS-C Analog Camcorder Questions & Answers
Getting e01 message what to do
http://www.fixya.com/support/t103751-in_video_mode_error_code_message_e01 resolved it for me... Apparently the JVC cameras have a little button that detects the presence of the battery, but it doesn't move very freely and you really have to slam the battery onto the camera before it notices. Cleared my E01 fault first time after having been getting more and more frustrated since it first locked up

A part has fallen out.
The component that fell out is called a tape guide. The guide assembly fits into the guide rail on the supply side (left side) of the drum. You will notice another guide to the right, this is the take up guide assy, it sits in the guide rail assembly as well. There will be a silver shaft sticking up from the guide rail where the tape guide should be seated, with gentle pressure, the guide should snap back on and the unit should operate correctly. Please do not touch the drum surface as this may damage the video head assembly.
Hope this helps you, good luck.

Why won't my digital camera charge via USB anymore?
Take camera and its battery to a camera outlet, ask them to check the built-in rechargeable battery.
Most outlets will help you with this, as its likely that if the battery has failed, you'll buy a replacement from the same dealer.
My GR_SMX730U VHS camcorder is eating the tape.It uses a PRO TC-30 casset.
that means the head is sticky or the takeup rollers are icky
take it apart . clean all the parts the tape touches with something thats strong but little water .
as for the head very carefull clean it when you get to the actual holes where heads are only use a proper qtip wetted . look it up or youll break them.
on the rubber rollers scrub them . then load the tape an watch it run.
its easy to fix this but you need a nice clean place an some small phillips , take pics of parts/screws if needed
