20 Most Recent JVC GR-SXM250 Camcorder Questions & Answers

Hi, you see when a Camera's & the like, is/are left without power going through it, it actually does it harm, things in storage should be powered up at least a few times a month, otherwise the capacitors will loose their "Form" and will not work correctly, and if left too long the unit simply becomes unservicable, also the moisture in the atmosphere, gets absorbed by osmosis, into "Other" compnentry, and this too causes failures, not to mention, any other sort of corrosion, or perhaps flat cells in a unit, inductors etc. So as said, this makes a unit more or less unrepairable. It still maybe worth taking it to a JVC authorized repairer, and asking for a "Quote" for repair, this way you can make an informed decision, as to repair or replace.

This is analog machine, you can not connect directly via digital connection. You need a capture device(composite to USB) available in the market. In case of Desktop Computer a PCI TV TUNER card that has video input can be used to capture videos from you tape. But, video quality in this set up is not as good as videos from digital sources like digital camcorder. Good luck

Change CCD. If you are technically inclined you can do it, but take a lot of care not to damage flexible wires. Otherwise have it service by the company. Good luck

E02 indicates that the mode switch did not rotate into the next position after 6 seconds during unloading attempt. This problem can occur for several different reasons, but almost always requires mechanism repair and retiming, a real pro job. Good luck, magic seadog

It looks like your Camcorder will need professional service. This model is famous for blown fuses, however these are surface mounted components about the size of a pin head. Not a user servicable situation. Good luck, magic seadog

Take camera and its battery to a camera outlet, ask them to check the built-in rechargeable battery.
Most outlets will help you with this, as its likely that if the battery has failed, you'll buy a replacement from the same dealer.

not sure on this one but it might be the heads in your vid cam may need cleaning.
or the tapes are not running straight on the heads or the rollers in side.
if the vid cam has been in a cold place it can cause this fault as the heads may have a bit of damp.
try putting a tape in and run it fast forword in play mode and see if starts to clear the playhead.if it does keep doing it until you see a clear picture.
this could also be a head misalignment fault if it is you will have to take it to some one to have a look at.
if any of the above does not work then you will have to take to some one to look at it.

The heads need cleaning. DO NOT USE A HEAD CLEANING TAPE. Thats like holding sand paper to the drum. Use alcohol and a swab.
