Finalize problem
hi...
you got 2 options only
1- trying some retrieval data software from CD\DVD (search the net)
2- send your disk to a specialized data recovery company.
no other options
I lost the driver
It is not required to use any driver to transfer videos from the Camcorder to the Computer.
Once you connect the Camcorder to the Computer, you will get the DVD disc in the Camcorder as an additional drive under My Computer.
You can find the Video_10 folder under the drive and copy it to the Computer to transfer the videos.
However, there are some occasion, computer may ask driver when connecting the Camcorder.. It may be due to genuine driver incompatibility..
In these type of situation, you can finalize the disc in the Camcorder and insert it in the CD/DVD drive on the Computer to transfer the videos.
You can use any software which you used to playback the commercially produced discs to playback the videos from the disc.

Sony Handycam Disc May Be Scratched Message
your camera might have an issue with the lens not reading the disc properly. if you already tried using b/n dvd disc, just make sure there are no smudges on it when you place it in the dvd cam. to futher isolate issue, try playing back discs with previous recordings that you made. if still it doesn't work. reset the camcorder (check manual for reset button location, make sure cam powered on when you press button using any fine-tipped object). if still didn't work.do power reset.remove battery or ac adapter.leave the cam w/o any power source for at least a minute. if your still getting the same problem, it won't hurt to try cleaning the lens using an 8cm dvd disc cleaner (w/c usually comes w/a non-abrasive solution) as the last resort. if everything fails, unit may need service. hope this helps. thanks:)
My LCD Screen has gone white
Wow, only ever seen a case like this once, maybe not same reason as your case, but the one I saw was damaged by having something bright eg sunlight directed into it's iris (camera lens) and it took out the auto light sensor part which made everything look like a burn-out, maybe pop in in to a Jesops camera shop if you are near one, see what they have to say about repair.
