Sony Handycam DCR-HC85 Mini DV
Hi,
Tape mechanism problems can be quite complicated but they can
usually be repaired fairly inexpensively. However, it's not a user
serviceable problem and will need to be repaired by a qualified service
technician.Unfortunately, there is no DIY for the same. It has to be looked by a pro on site.
If you have electronics repair experience, and would like to repair it yourself, revert and i would be able to follow up. Be advised it would require certain mechanical ability and dissembling of the camera.
Let me know,if needed further assistance.
Hope i helped you.
Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!
I need a dcr-hc85 driver
Windows Vista Starter edition is not supported.
The USB streaming feature is not supported with 64-bit Windows Vista operating systems.
The drivers required to connect most Sony® cameras and camcorders to a computer are already included in the Microsoft Windows Vista operating system.
Note: In some instances, the camera or camcorder may not be recognized by the computer when connected. In this case, check to see if there is an
updated driver available for your model.
If the above link doesn't work, you can check to see if there is an updated driver at this address:

Sony DCR-DVD200 camcorder not turning on after trying to fix it.
The best thing you can do now is to take it to a specialist and get them to do the repairs. Camcorders have a lot of electronics in them and can be easily damaged if your a not an experienced repairer. You might also have to consider that this camcorder might not be repairable.

TRV260 nail-polish head attack:
eek.
Acetone is a powerful solvent capable of dissolving plastic parts, plastic gears, housing and insulation.
Besides that, it leaves a residue of microscopic crystals which have probably contaminated the highly-polished metal head drum.
Not to mention gumming up the bushes and bearings.
With your next camera, rather use a head-cleaner DV-tape.
Sony dcr-hc62 won't record
Memory stick could be fubar. I have a bad sd card that I can record to and will work. Then a few days later the data is corrupted, and I have to reinstall it / same pattern. Try another stick to verify that it is the stick and not the camera electronics.
