Al1912 monitor with grey volume
Normally problem is defective switches rather then mainboard.
If volume + is coming on chances are that the switch is mechanically stuck or electrically leaky.
If you are technically able I can guide you further.

Never a good idea to clean with any spray cleaner. The cleaner does get down in the button bar and cause corrosion and shorting along ribbon cable. Use screen wipes for computer monitors only on TV's and any type of monitors. You can remove the back of the case. And remove the button board and clean with a cue tip and alcohol along ribbon cable.
Need to know how to Disassemble AL1912 19" LCD Monitor
The ones I take apart have a snap on front bezel.
gently pry at the lcd edge with fingers in center left or right to get it to bow , dont damage the lcd with too much pressure.
it will start to separate ,put a plastic knife or such in the outside crack and work your way around once you have one side the rest will be easier. you have to bow the inside edge out(away from the lcd) because of the plastic clips.
luck.
I am having trouble exporting
you will do, cd writers will not write to a dvd. you can either replace your cd writer with a dvd-rw drive (dvd-rw drives will also write to cd) or you can get an external usb dvd drive.
I use Acer AL1912 19inch
Sounds like the monitor is dying, if it starts to die more and more often you will likely have to replace your monitor before it goes completely out. There are not many ways for a user to repair a monitor, unless the problem is with the computer, which you could test by connecting a different monitor to the computer for a while (if available). Hope this helps!
I boot up the PC,
You can perform a test by plugging it into another PC/laptop to see if you can get the display. If it doesn't work there, you most likely need to replace/repair your screen. If it does, then it means that there is a problem with your PC's video card.
I get 1 second of picture after switch on then
Look for bad caps with domed tops, very common problem with all brands of LCD monitors.
If you are going to DIY and already try the monitor with another PC, and have proper tools and know safety precaution then please read on:
Most common failures in the LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply (they should be replaced in a set), blown fuses; poor solder joints, failed inverter circuits (blown fuse, shorted transistors, shorted/open transformers), bad lamps (poor solder connections or worn out lamps). You will need to open it up and inspect the inside, see example of failed ACER monitors to get some ideas what to look for: http://s807.photobucket.com/albums/yy352/budm/
Post back what you see inside so we can guide you further and it will help out other people in the future also.
