There are three ways that you can download information from your tower to your laptop.1. The first way is to copy all of the items that you want to transfer in your email and then send via email. The Port you hooked it up to isn't active. If you have another video out on your comp try it and see. Are you using a laptop or a desktop comp?

2 things you may try, 1? try to push f2 or del to get into the bios and modify the boot order of the devices or 2? press f4, f8 or some f(X) that usually show you boot options, this options may be shown on your screen when you turn on your computer and do the post, just pay atention to see if you find them.
