Monitor not connecting to tower. it is plug in to

three things can be the issue here:

1. No signal from the tower (VIDEO CARD)
2. Bad cable or bent pin on the d-sub 9-15 pin vga connector.
3. Bad signal board inside the monitor itself.

Things to try:

1. another computer.
2. check the signal cable for bent pins.
3. check the video card in the tower.

Before you "think its a bad monitor" you always want to assume the computer first as computers are 9 times out of 10 why the monitor is not coming on such as BIOS errors, Bad video card, bad power supply etc etc.

On startup when it's cold it comes on but immediately turns off

Most probably it has the same problem like mine, bad filter capacitors on the power unit. 1-Disassamble the display unit a-remove the screws marked with arrows at the back of the unit b-pry the front frame softly by the corners and lift it up c-remove the 4 chrome screws beneath the switch and led board d-remove the pedestal by removing it's screws (4) and the pedestal top cover screws (2) e-place the unit flat on it's face on a table and remove the back cover f-remove the metal shield by remowing the connector on its right side and the screw at the middle. 2-Now you can see the power supply. Check all the electrolytic condensators for a flat top. Even if the top is slightly puffed up that will lndicate a bad or very-soon-will-be-bad capacitor. 3-Replace them with same value of capacitors. But be careful that the replacement capacitors has to carry the max working temperature marking for 105°C NOT 85°C. The later will not last long in a switch mode power supply environment.
Now you can put the unit back into one piece and carry on using it for some more years.

How do I adjust the brightness? It's too much?

Hi,
By following these steps u can adjust the brightness

Step 1
Press "Menu" on your LCD's display panel (usually below the screen). Various display options will be shown on the screen.
Step 2
Select brightness from the options. This is usually indicated by a sun. Use the "+" and "-" buttons on your display panel to increase or decrease brightness.
Step 3
Select contrast from the options. This is usually indicated by an oval half black and half white. Use the "+" and "-" buttons on your display panel to increase or decrease contrast.

Thank you

DCLCD 19" flatscreen won't turn on correctly

Same problem here, but after using the plugging/unplugging method it eventually stopped all together. So, I took it to a local monitor repair shop (AM Stereo, Seattle). The problem is a power supply issue where the capasitors go bad. They fixed the monitor by replacing the capacitors for $70. In there experience, all monitors, regardless of brand, tend to use the same cheap capacitors which fail. He replaced them with better quality capacitors which may make this monitor better than it ever was. I'm back in business with a great monitor!

Settings for dcl lcd monitor

Hi,
Your laptop resolution is greater than the external monitor can handle. From your laptop, try changing the screen resolution to 800x600, if it works, up the ante to 1024x768. You can bring it up again until you find a comfortable screen resolution. You will eventually stop to a point when your external monitor displays about 80% of the laptop screen. That is, back to your original problem. But you get the idea. Cheers!

Monitor won't turn on -- flashes on then off again

This is probably a RAM memory trouble, you have to try with 2 ways: 1) Try with another RAM memory to start your pc, 2) Verify the memory using a DOS software to check it.

Also, you could reset the BIOS using the jumper settings established on the PC Motherboard Manual to try if the BIOS is fail, or update the PC BIOS.

At last, You must check the temperature generated on the devices, if it's warm it means that the Hardware needs to add more fan coolers, or deactivate Overclocking. The overheat cause this fail too.

Click on this site to setup Bios or Cmos :

What does the firmware update mean?Does it update to wifi

"Update" does not mean "upgrade." You can update the firmware in the microprocessor with a newer version, so that it runs better in most cases. You cannot upgrade to better hardware using this method.

Sceptre screen flashes with lines. Any ideas

You need to determine if it is the monitor or the video card. First step is if you have another computer, connect the monitor to that and see if it works ok. If not, it is the monitor and likely the video board. Depending on the age of the monitor it might be better to purchase new monitor.
