mkv files are for HD movies that are pirated and reencoded - because of that they will run only on much better laptops than what you have: they need at least 2GB of memory and a dual-core processor.

Here is step by step solution (It works most cases) 1. first of all open registry editor.( in run write regedit.exe and press Enter)
Then go to: "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\IDE"

Once you're there, you should see multiple entries for your IDE drives.
Check your CD-ROM drives. Check the entry directly below your CD-ROM drives
to see if any of them have a property for the LowerFilter or UpperFilter. If
so, delete the property. If you get a prompt saying you can't delete the
property, you'll have to modify the permissions of the registry entry so that
you're allowed to edit.

Hope this helps...

From what I understand there may be a problem with the power circuitry used to light up a small fluorescent light that is the actual light source for the display. The TFT display itself doesn't produce it's own light, and if you point an external light source to the display and see program windows & other things the display itself is fine. Your problem can be solved with relative ease, but only in a computer service because it demands some components to be changed.

Hello -

Depending upon where (in your home?) you use your Sony Vaio laptop (via WiFi?) you may need a WiFi booster or extender. Or, you may find that moving your WiFi router to another location in your home will improve your connection without diminishing the connections for other laptops used in your home.

Perhaps the information here will prove instructive:

Note: If the router needs to be moved in your home, you will probably need a technician for your Internet provider to come to your home to relocate it and connect it properly.
