Magic Chef oven 38HN-3TXW clock assembly
Hi John.I am sorry but the service manual for this model is not available. I hope that the following can help a bit.Parts for
38HN-3TXW are listed at appliancespartspro
(here the link). As you know parts for the control panel are not available. Parts for similar models are available. I would contact them to find out if parts from models like
38HN-6TVW-SC are compatible.Here
diagram of 38HN 6TV control panel, it is similar to
38HN 3TX, shown at partselect.com (that shows parts as discontinued). Here a
list of models from 38HN series.A way to troubleshoot without service manual is running continuity tests between contacts at switch, relay board, control module and elements to understand how wiring is connected and to test wiring. In a second stage the job consists in reading voltage at relay board and timer contacts. Because of the safety issues involved, testing with power on must be done by a trained person.Where possible do continuity tests. About the corroded contacts at relay board check if there is continuity between the solder joints at the back of the board and the relay connectors (continuity means contact closed with zero Ohms or low impedance). The test is done with power not connected.

O.comF1 code won't go off.
Hi kellyhubble,
The F1 error code shows a defective membrane. To determine which component is at fault, disconnect ribbon strip. If NO fault code, replace membrane, otherwise replace board.
Hope it helps.
Thank you for using FixYa.

I hav a gas electric ignite system.all 4 burners
Hello, would you happen to have the model number of your range? As to what could be the issue why your unit is not lighting it could be each individual ignitor or it could be the spark modulator in the unit is not sending the spark to the ignitors. You could also have a break in one of the wires that goes from the control to the switch or, you could also have a bad switch that has arced closed preventing the flow of electricity from traveling past the first switch as most switches are wired in a chain from one to the next. You will need a multimeter and to be able to perform tests measureing the flow of current as well as be able to perform continuity tests on the switches as well to assure that they are functioning properly. A question if you were to use a lighter to light the burners does the burner light and if it does does the flame travel around each of the burners as well the reason I ask this is sometimes carbon can build up on a burner preventing the burners from lighting. If you have any further questions message me back and I await your reply Thanks Rick

Magic Cheff gas kitchen range oven and broiler
Hello thats great that you get an orange glow out of the ignitor but it still could be faulty. You would need a multimeter that can measure amperes or an ampere meter an ignitor is supposed to draw between 3 - 3.3 amps any less then this would constitute a weak ignitor and you would have to replace the ignitor. My personal opinion is that yours is most likely drawing around 2 amps which is way to low and that is why it is taking so long for the flame to ignite. If after you perform the ampere test you find that your ignitor is functioning at the specified amounts then message me back for further diagnosis. Thanks I await your reply

Hello, my Magic Chef S64D
there is a thermocouple sensor located in the roof area of the oven and controls the bake portion, its a thin bulb about 4"-6" long hooked to,depending the age of the unit a copper line going to the bake/broil control on the control panel, the newer units have an electrical plug behind the oven cavity and you just unplug this sensor and replace the sensor unit which connects to the control center unit

While we were moving, there was a pan of cooking
THE RANGE WILL NEED TO BE SOMEWHAT TAKEN APART TO ACCESS THE INSULATION.
NORMALLY THERE ARE SREWS THAT CAN BE REMOVED TO DO THIS. THEN THE INSULATION CAN BE REMOVED AND NEW INSTALLED. AN APPLIANCE REPAIR PERSON CAN DO THIS. - -SORRY, IT MAY BE DIFFICULT FOR ANYONE OTHER THEN A SERVICE PERSON.
